I like to support local businesses, especially when they are owned by nice people. Bento woman is just that. The woman that took our order was very nice. I ordered the Japanese noodle plate they sell. I forget what it’s called lol. I had them add chicken to it. They give you a decent amount of chicken. The noodles look like spaghetti noodles. They put too many onions and bell peppers into the noodles. My only gripe. I tried their chicken teriyaki too. It’s good. My dish was under $15 and it’s a good portion of food. In a few days it will be a new year. We were given little packets filled with goodies. There was a Happy New Year message on it. I thought this was really nice of them. They have boba drinks and things like croissants, but I just ordered a bottle of water. They have no dining room, just some chairs so you can sit while you wait for your order. Because of this they have no atmosphere. They have a mid sized parking lot.

Feeling nostalgic for home today (Hawaii) I happened across Bento Woman - The big sign saying TERIYAKI KATSU RAMEN - is hard to miss and hit me right in my heart strings. I ordered a teriyaki chicken plate…the salad was fresh with a great dressing, perfect small portion of Mac salad which was so satisfying, great chicken with a perfect teriyaki glaze, perfect rice, and a shout out to the tsukemono (pickles) - I’ve never had Japanese style picked jalapeño and it was so bomb. This is the kind of diamond in the rough restaurant that makes LA’s food shine. Can’t wait for me next plate, gochisosamadeshita!

An extra star because they were so nice. This place has been on my list for forever but they close early (7pm) so I kept missing them. New owners took this over a year ago (2020?) and took some items off the menu (Udon and Ramen) and added some Korean staples like Galbi. I tried the Chicken Teriyaki, the Pork Teriyaki, the Beef Teriyaki and the Spicy Chicken across two combos. Everything was very good but I loved the Chicken Teriyaki the most. The Bento boxes are beautiful w/ rice, salad, macaroni salad and some pickled veggies. Great experience and I’ll return.

At last, today is my first time ordering lunch at Bento Woman! Conveniently located along Western between Pico and Venice, they have an extensive menu of Japanese bento dishes and some Korean staples. Interestingly, to place your order, you'll ring their doorbell at their window. A lady answered the window and kindly took my order of the Combo Bento (it comes with beef and chicken teriyaki). It was reasonably priced at $15.99 plus tax with a side salad, scoop of steamed rice, macaroni salad and a few fermented veggies. As I waited for my order, the lady generously offered me a sample of their chicken teriyaki.

I was immediately impressed with their chicken teriyaki because it had an ideal umami taste. Other places have their sauce either overly salty or sweet. Bento Woman has it just right, as it's almost identical to the teriyaki I tasted in Gardena and Torrance. As I got my order, the lady kindly asked me on how the chicken was. I immediately replied, "it's very tasty!"

I thanked her for her exceptional service and took home my order. As I got home, I continued to savor the chicken teriyaki and their perfectly cooked and tender beef teriyaki. The side salad, rice, macaroni salad and veggies did not disappoint. Moving forward, Bento Woman will be my go-to spot for some authentic and high quality teriyaki bentos, just...
