I waited a long time to get this pizza 1.The price was too elevated; but seemed worth the pay because of the sizes of the pizzas 2. I needed the right moment to get a good deal; but despite the 4 toppings deal, the toppings were being charged ad if there were 0 deal, so i just got 1 topping on my pizza. Then, when i went to pick it up, just like any other old place, no napkins or plates were offered even for the heck of it. I know some may not really care about that; but i do especially if i spit out a tip in my pre-payment. So then i got my pizza and was anxious to eat it, and i noticed my "well done" petition was not followed, and the pie was not cut well enough, that 3 or 4 slices were pulled at 1 time--so that was annoying. And the taste was okay; but i noticed right away the dough was not natural...it pretty much tasted pre-made and frozen for the inexperienced pizza maker to just flatten it out and throw in the ingredients. In addition, i practically had a cheese pizza, and something, whether it is the sauce or something sprinkled, tasted heavily like black olives (yuck!). I probably would try it one more time in the far future to change my review perhaps; but for the heavy craving that i had, it was a big...
Read moreHOLY JEEZ THIS PIZZA IS GOOD! So over the past 15 years, I've spent a lot of time in pizza parlors. I've done it all - made the dough, prepped the ingredients, put it all together, experimented with time and heat, etc. I gotta say, these guys know what they're doing when it comes to pizza pies.
I've seen their restaurants in different places around the valley but for whatever reason, I haven't tried one of their pizzas until today. Boy I sure wish I had known how good they were before today. I ordered a small pizza, regular crust, with sausage, red onion and mushroom. What one might call the classic "Midwestern" style pizza. I can't tell you how blown away I was with this pizza. Normally I'll order a pizza, eat one slice (maybe one and a half), think "meh, that was okay", and put the rest in the fridge. Not with this pizza. I ATE FOUR SLICES. That's totally unlike me as I'm a very light eater, but I couldn't get enough of this one.
Seriously, try their pizza. It's way better than I ever thought it would be, and the prices are fair. Big thumbs up, BMPP!
P.S., sorry for the bad picture. That was the only slice left and I didn't really know how to...
Read moreToday was my 50th reunion for Northridge Jr High School. We were going to meet there, and then find someplace to eat together. No one but me showed up. Boo-Hoo. Oh, well. So I wandered around my old neighborhood, seeing and remembering the things that I hadn't seen for 50 years. I decided to go home, but I was hungry. I was at the corner of Roscoe & Reseda. There were many food choices. I chose Mama's & Papa's, Northridge. I sauntered in and asked for a slice. The guy at the counter smiled. He pointed at a pizza slice shaped box, except that it was 3 feet long. " How much?" About 9 dollars. "I'll have one, please," This was not a mistake. My poor words do little service to the sublime tastes here. If you like a thin, crispy, fresh pizza, then this is the place for you. I'll let my pictures do the talking. Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria, Northridge. Shut the...
