It is incredibly hard to get in touch with anyone here. Calling their phone number usually results in reaching their voicemail even during business hours. And when I did have a chance to speak to an actual person, they advised me to text in to "get a hold of the restaurant" in regards to our reservation. I AM calling the restaurant, so I'm unsure why the woman I spoke to could not assist me. Initially reaching them via text was great and I would get responses about my inquiries. However, I had one last yes/no question that I needed an answer to and... crickets. Never got a response. It was a request to add one more person to our reservation, which if it was not possible I would understand, but now I'm glad I didn't hear back because I would not want another friend to go through the absolute waste of time we did!
Our party showed up on time for our reservation at 5:15 pm on a Sunday. We were seated immediately. We got a table of 4 right outside and our server, Dylan (I believe his name was), was attentive at first and would check in on us. He took our orders, left, and eventually he disappeared. We were not kindly told that he would potentially be going on break or introduced us to who our new server would be, nada. He never showed up again.
One of my friends ordered the Lovely Latte from the limited time Barbie menu and the Landwer Burger, both which were absolutely flavorless and bland. Then two of my other friends ordered the Glitz & Glitter drinks, also from the limited time menu, which were forgotten about and we needed to flag someone. It a mission to get anyone to notice us, and after talking to a staff member, 30 mins later they get brought over. We eventually start getting our food delivered to our table and I notice that my Sinia Kabob had a PIECE OF NAPKIN on top as a lovely garnish. How does that get missed by the kitchen and presented to a customer to eat? Where has that napkin been and what germs have now contaminated my food? Obviously I want to bring this to the attention of the staff so my plate can be sent back to the kitchen and be remade. We waited patiently for our server to swing by. It took 30-40 mins for us to realize that no one was going to come by and check in on us. Dylan did not came back and I needed to physically get out of my seat to speak to the hostess up front to flag the issue for her. She then turns around and her eyes are scanning the inside of the restaurant for Dylan. He is nowhere to be seen and she said that she would let him know as soon as he comes by. After another 20 mins a completely different employee comes by who apologizes, takes my plate to the back, and says they'll remake it ASAP. We were lied to. I NEVER got my remade meal properly plated and served to me at our table. Eventually I asked to order something else because of the massive delays and asked if the pasta dish my friend ordered would be faster. We had yet another different server who said it would be compared to my Sinai Kebab and that it would be ready in "10 minutes." More lies. We waited over an hour total with them constantly telling us that they were "working on it" and that it would be "ready soon." The restaurant manager, Amir, eventually comes over to our table to try and deescalate the situation, but nothing could make up for the dreadful experience we all had here. I never got my pasta, which I last requested, and instead got the Sinai Kebab. My remade order ended up being packed up in a to-go container because we were itching to leave. By the time we left it was 8 pm. We spent almost 3 hours here, not because we were having fun, but because of the lack of attention and service this place has for their customers. And we were not alone, we saw and overheard countless of complaints from other parties dining there as well. And the Sinai Kebab was also flavorless and bland! The best thing about it was the chopped salad that came as the side! They comped my Sinai Kebab from our bill but I just wish we could get our TIME back that we wasted...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Landwer in Century City Mall, and it was nothing short of a revelation—a throwback to the golden age of dining where exceptional service and incredible food go hand in hand. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warmth and attentiveness that felt like a rare gem in today’s fast-paced world. The staff moved with a quiet confidence, anticipating needs before they were even voiced, delivering a level of care that reminded me of the old days when hospitality was an art form. And then there’s the food—oh, the food! The hummus was a masterpiece, silky-smooth and rich with the earthy depth of tahini, served with warm, pillowy pita that practically begged to be torn apart and dipped. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite, marveling at how something so simple can be so profound. The schnitzel was equally unforgettable—crisp and golden on the outside, tender and juicy within, a perfect balance of texture and flavor that transported me straight to a European countryside kitchen. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s commitment to quality, using ingredients so fresh you could taste the care in every morsel. But the real showstopper? The Nutella latte. This wasn’t just a drink—it was an experience. Velvety and indulgent, with the unmistakable richness of Nutella swirling through perfectly steamed milk, it struck that rare harmony of sweetness and coffee that lingers long after the last sip. It’s the kind of treat that makes you wonder why every cafe doesn’t aspire to this level of decadence. Cafe Landwer at Century City Mall isn’t just a meal; it’s a celebration of what dining can be when passion and precision come together. The service harkens back to an era of genuine hospitality, and the food—hummus, schnitzel, and that incredible Nutella latte—elevates the everyday into something extraordinary. I left feeling not just satisfied, but truly cared for, already counting the days until...
Read moreWe stopped in for our first time this past Sunday for an early lunch and we’re so happy that we did so. I work in one of the buildings next to the Century City mall, where Café Landwer is located on the second floor. It’s directly under and next to Nordstrom‘s on the north side of the mall. The design on the inside is really bright and open and looks kind of like a café that you would see in a European train station. The dangling ferns are a great touch. They specialize in Middle Eastern flavors and serve breakfast and lunch. Our server was very polite and everything came out fairly quickly. Parking is easy to find because it’s attached to the giant Century City Mall. Pricing is fair, especially compared to other restaurants within the same mall.
They have a fairly small menu, but it has a lot of international classics on it. We chose the Mediterranean Breakfast and the Schnitzel plate. The Mediterranean Breakfast was honestly really delicious and the labneh was a wonderful addition. The Schnitzel was a lot smaller than I am used to, but it had the same great traditional flavor. I have been to Europe many times and it did taste similar to what I got over there. For our drinks, we chose their famous café Landwer Iced Tea and although it was very sweet and very good, I still prefer the traditional iced tea.
Overall a great breakfast and lunch option if you live or work close by or if you are visiting the mall. I would recommend and plan to be back in the future to try...
