I've been an OTF member for nearly 10 years. I've referred countless people to them but after an incident I had last week that has yet to be resolved I have decided to end my membership. I walked in before a class and was asked for my credit card to update billing. When I left class I saw a $14 charge had been charged to my account. If they had told me upfront that I was going to be charged for a no show fee that would be one thing but to say they didn't know until after the fact is a bold faced lie. The manager told me they would ask the regional manager but who knows if that ever happened. I have very rarely not shown up to a class or forgot to cancel so I asked for a 1 time courtesy and was told no. I've been chasing them for the last week and I can't even get a credit out of this even as a good faith gesture. Some other issues I have here... the instructors have the energy of an undertaker, the validation machine is like trying to figure out a Rubik's cube, the fire alarm is always going off in the morning classes, there are lights bulbs that never get changed so it's always flickering, sometimes there's an awful smell of sewage wafting through that part of the mall but by far the worst part is the attitude of acting like they are better than you. I'm also a rower. I have been taking rowing class since before OTF was around with Josh Crosby who developed the rowers for OTF. He is an incredible instructor and motivator who has since moved to the east coast but I don't know when the last time was that anyone at OTF worked on the rowers because you might as well be pulling through sand and guess what, you will hurt yourself if you don't know what you are doing and the equipment isn't being maintained properly. Unfortunately, this location's short sighted approach to how they treat their customers has led to this long standing member of nearly 10 years to cancel her membership. You want to charge "premiere" prices, go ahead, but you better be able to offer "premiere" services which this location does not. There are plenty of other gyms I can go to and the only thing I will miss about Orangetheory are some of the truly wonderful instructors who I have met like Delvon, Cody, Lal and Tyler. If you have the privilege of seeing their names on the schedule I would highly recommend taking...
Read moreI stumbled upon Orange Theory Fitness in my quest for a workout that feels more like a party than punishment, and let me tell you, it was like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, or in this case, the orange!
From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with infectious energy and enthusiasm that makes you forget you're about to embark on an hour of exercise. The staff are there to pump you up, guide you through the workout, and ensure you're having the time of your life while torching those calories.
Now, let's talk about the workout itself. It's like a high-intensity dance party with dumbbells! The blend of cardio, strength training, and endurance exercises keeps your body guessing and your mind engaged. Plus, the music? Oh, it's like they've got a DJ who only plays hits that make you want to move your feet faster and lift those weights higher. I've never felt so motivated to push myself to new limits!
But what truly sets Orange Theory apart is the sense of community. You're not just sweating it out solo; you're surrounded by a tribe of like-minded individuals who are all on their own journey to greatness. There's something incredibly empowering about being part of such a supportive and encouraging environment. It's like having your own personal cheer squad, minus the pom-poms (although, who knows, maybe they'll introduce those next!).
And let's not forget the after burn – that euphoric feeling of accomplishment and endorphin rush that lasts long after the class is over. It's addictive, in the best possible way!
So, if you're looking to inject some fun into your fitness routine, Orange Theory Fitness is the place to be. Trust me, once you go orange, you'll...
Read moreThis single star rating is not a commentary on the curriculum nor its trainers or most of the staff but the 7 minute lateness policy and the subsequent $12 penalty rate you're charged for missing a class you attempted to make. This morning I got to class at 5:22 for a 5:15 am class and by the time "Gina" told me it was a "legal issue" that precluded me from joining the class at the grace, 7 minute mark, 35 seconds had elapsed. Granted, it is/was early and I thought she was telling me it was a lot later than 5:22 and that the class had begun earlier than scheduled which made me see red, my mistake for that but it is EXTREMELY frustrating to "make it" to a class that isn't full that early and have someone tell you there's some legal liability to letting you into the class at seconds passed grace. I could understand charging you for missing the class entirely (though I think it's excessive given the high membership price), but not if, in good faith, you made it to the studio. To add, the attitude that you can "just take a later class" as if you have no other timed commitments is also frustrating. I take full responsibility for being late and for the policy I agreed to, but it does nothing to change feeling thrown off course this morning for as minor an infraction as being seconds passed the grace and getting the mechanical response that I got. I'm annoyed at the whole exchange this morning...I just completed the subsequent class that was to begin at 6:20, but started at 6:19...starting the class early makes reliance on the board for time elapsed unreliable...more reason to feel that Gina's reluctance to let me into the class at 5:22...
