The tea at CaliTea RPV is actually pretty good. Unfortunately, this location suffers from other issues. First, their build your own drink section lists the price as $5.90. However, when you try to add a single flavor to your tea (step 3 on their menu) they charge you 35 cents. This charge is NOT listed on the menu. Note, if I were to order the same exact drink with green tea instead of black, there would be no 35 cent charge in the system. I pointed it out to the employee checking me out and was told it was strange so they removed the charge. No harm no foul, right? That was until I went back.
The next time I went to this location I ordered the same thing and again pointed out the 35 cent charge. I thought everything was fine until I went to pick up the drinks. A different employee handing me the drinks said the 35 cents is a mandatory charge. Again, despite it not being present on the menu or if you order green tea instead of black. I pointed this put to them, but they didn’t seems to care.
At this point I’m getting pretty annoyed, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. However, this employee had the audacity to ask me for the name of the person that originally removed the 35 cent charge for me because they needed to be written up. I told them I didn’t know their name, which is true. Shockingly they then asked me to describe the person!
Honestly, after this experience I have no intention of returning. The tea is good, but whoever runs this location needs to teach their employees about professionalism because this was unacceptable.
Edit: Finally got to drink me tea and they left the flavoring out. So add pettiness to the...
Read moreThis place is great. Their boba is some of the best I’ve had. I’ve tried a few different things from the menu and they’ve always been great. I’ve never had to use the “let us know if you don’t like your drink!” sign. I have no doubt they’d try to rectify the situation if I wasn’t happy with my drink. The staff are always very friendly and helpful (check out the barista menu). I personally like to get 25% sweetness on most things, but they have a range of options to take advantage of. The macaroons they have a really nice, too. They put up cute seasonal decorations & cups. There’s lots of seating both inside and out, there’s amble parking, and a clean bathroom. I’ve met friends here, studied, and seen fundraisers take place. I’m very glad to have such a great boba...
Read moreWhen this place first opened it was great. I originally gave it 5 stars. I had only stopped in because my kid received a gift card. The only reason I keep returning is because the kiddos love boba and it's close to their school. In about 6 months time the prices have skyrocketed. Drinks are way too sweet, even if you ask for a lower percentage sweetness. Workers are polite, but there is this underlying feeling that they couldn't care less about you or your order. Despite all this I will probably return so I don't have to drive out of my way for boba. They recently started incentive cards, which makes sense for the amount of money you'll end up spending if you...
