I was really looking forward to trying CHA CHA at Century City Mall after seeing their drinks all over Instagram. The aesthetic is great, and I’d seen so many people taking photos, so I was excited to do the same. But my experience wasn’t what I’d hoped for.
When I walked in, I wasn’t acknowledged or welcomed, and the single staff member seemed uninterested in helping. I mentioned it was my first time and asked for recommendations, but her responses were dismissive, like “get whatever you want” and “what’s funzy to you,” when I asked about specific drink options.
It felt like the staff member wasn’t willing to help as long as I was taking photos or had my phone out, so I put it away to try to engage more, but even then, I felt looked at as if I was bothering her. I was really disappointed, especially because part of the CHA CHA vibe seems to be about capturing the experience.
despite me trying to engage politely, I was felt ignored, I felt as if I was being looked at with disapproval. At points, her attitude felt outright unfriendly, which left me wondering if it was due to something personal or, honestly, even racial. It was disappointing and hurtful, especially in a place I was excited to try. I hope this isn’t how CHA CHA’s staff usually behaves, as I was really hoping for a welcoming and enjoyable experience. I also hope this isn’t the usual level of service at CHA CHA’s. I would love to try it again under better...
Read moreI didn’t realize how much I could love Matcha until I started going to Cha Cha Matcha. It’s in the Westfield Century City Mall, and although they don’t validate there you can get your parking validated if you spend $10 at Gelson’s. They have a variety of seating options outside, both connected to Cha Cha and nearby in the mall, and it’s a great vibe.
They have a large posted menu with different ways you can order your matcha, and my three favorites were:
Strawberry Matcha ($8) with Matcha, Fresh Strawberry Syrup, their Beauty Blend, Honey, Vanilla, & your choice of milk (I recommend oat). 🍓 Although a higher price point, it’s unique and worth it. This is great for anyone who wants to try something sweet that has a strong berry flavor and fun texture.
Mint Matcha Lemonade ($6.50) with Matcha, Yuzu Lemonade & Fresh Mint. 🍃 This is great for anyone who wants something crisp, refreshing, and citrus-forward.
Draft Matcha Latte ($7) with Nitro Infused, Vanilla, Matcha, Coconut, & Oat Milk. 🥥 This is great for anyone who wants a smooth take focused on the...
Read morehated it here. door made me feel like I was walking into Brandy Melville in Paris. Genuinely so inconvenient and uncomfortable. Super rude workers as well, wanted to get you out of there as soon as possible. Where are the costumers you are in a rush for ??😭 please slow down.
My cup had a hole in it??? (If you’re going to waste this much plastic at least make it worth it) she handed me the cup I set it down and the drink started pouring out of the little hole on the side. It got everywhere and all over my phone, so I gave the cup back to her and she dumped it into a separate cup and then doused it with more strawberry syrup which I DIDNT ASK FOR. she wasn’t even surprised there was a hole, didn’t acknowledge it or apologize, she just snatched the cup back! I’m guessing it happens all the time🤷♀️ ended up with a NINE DOLLAR (a dollar in tip) drink that tasted SO AWFUL like pure sugar....
