I came here one day while wanting to get a nice refreshing meal with my friend. This is really a hidden gem! It surprises me that this place isn’t very crowded despite being right in the open on the second level. Sushi quality is GREAT, like butter. My favorite is the salmon sashimi. One of the best dishes I have had, I strongly recommend this. Cucumber salad was good, I wish the skin was cut off and a bit more sauce but that’s just a preference and I still recommend it! All rolls are yummy and the edamame is delicious. Great atmosphere, not loud, and I love how open it is. Very chill and laid back (in the best way). I recommend coming on a sunny day, it might be a bit of a struggle to sit at the bar when it’s windy, but as a person who enjoys being outside it doesn’t bother me. Not crowded at all, and staff is super nice. Talkative and caring, but took a little longer then preferred to get our check. Prices are decent, makes sense for the taste and quality though! I don’t usually order a big portion so it was the perfect cost but maybe for someone with a bigger appetite it might be a little pricey. Best spot for nice dates, quick meals, and so on. I love how the soy sauce is put into a little dripping jar, so cute.
Overall, great! I very much recommend. I will definitely be coming here a lot, will be amazing on a summer day. I don’t usually post reviews but i really had to share how delicious...
Read moreCame here for lunch on Sunday and got a seat in the shade. It was the perfect weather and vibe to hang out and people watch at the outdoor mall.
I didn’t realize they had touchless hand sanitizers at the bar, so I had pulled out my own to use before eating. The soy sauce droppers were such a cute touch. I put it in my little dish, but I saw other people drop it directly on their food.
I’m not a huge sake fan, but I wanted to try it. Tasted just like rice wine, lol.
The 3 hand rolls combo (signature, salmon, albacore) was so good! I loved the albacore the best. It’s the freshest I’ve ever eaten. And the sushi rice was seasoned well, so sweet and tangy. I also loved how fresh the nori was. So crispy and crunchy. The hand rolls reminded me of gigantic nigiris, haha.
We also added 3 pieces of o-toro sashimi. Market price was $10. It came with a cute butterfly nori decoration that fluttered in the wind. So cute! And topped with crunchy bits of caviar. The o-toro was so buttery and fresh. Very good.
Payment is cashless, and we were a bit confused at first because there was no way to add tip. Then I realized that 15% is automatically added to the bill and they don’t allow any other tips. What an interesting concept, but it works.
I asked if they validated for parking, and our server said just go to Gelson’s and buy a pack of gum, and they’ll validate for two...
Read moreStopped by here randomly after shopping today, but was quite disappointed in the taste and quality. The staff was kind and lovely, but the place itself seemed understaffed and also quite all over the place. I just want to make sure that it’s clear that my two stars are mostly for the service. As far as the food goes, I got the cucumber salad, shishito peppers, and combo #3: the cucumber salad was just sliced cucumbers with a bit of vinegar drizzled on top with some of the bottom pieces being frozen. The shishito peppers were pretty much the same, just drizzled lightly with what tasted like balsamic vinegar which was only at the bottom of the bowl with almost no flavor to itself. As far as the hand rolls go, I couldn’t eat 2 of the 3 of the hand rolls. Something just didn’t taste right or fresh overall, and it wasn’t any new fish I have never tried before. I was excited to give this place a try and I am by no means a raw fish expert and taste is subjective but very few times have I actually been unable to finish my food. Thanks to the lovely staff again though, but I do not...
