Please see my attached image of all the recent bad reviews on Yelp. In particular it's about the rude manager. We have been a customer of Cho Cho San for over 15 years. We ordered a few things on over the phone. In general, it's difficult to order sushi over the phone but we did and have done many times before from this place. First of all, the girl who took the order wasn't knowledgeable about the "favorite" items on the menu. We wanted a spicy tuna crunch roll, a "Cho Cho San favorite" - but she didn't know anything about it. Since we had to explain the roll to her about 5 times, I knew it was going to be wrong and it was. But here is the kicker, when we get there, we check the order and point out what's it's missing, the shrimp tempura! But they already charged our credit card. My husband reaches over to pick up our 2nd order to open it and check it for accuracy and the manager snatches it out of his hand and says don't touch the food. Mind you we already PAID for it and it's technically ours, I really think the 2nd order was wrong too and he didn't want us examining it to point out how bad this place has slipped. The girl was clueless and untrained, but not her fault. How the male manager behaved was completely unprofessional and inappropriate and horrible behavior for any business manager. The manager was flat out rude and we will never be back again. We had been coming here for over 15 years but NEVER AGAIN! Managers are a reflection of the entire operation. I bet the employees are miserable under his management. Rude customer service, poor quality sushi, don't waste your time or money. This place has really gone down the toilet over the past 5 years. Probably because of that specific...
Read moreHORRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND RUDE service ...I waited 5 days because I really didn't want to give this establishment a bad review. I have been a customer since 2002 I love the CHEFS and have spent thousands there. However, I will not return until it is under NEW MANAGEMENT!! I ordered takeout as I normally do and the new waitress was having a problem locating what we wanted on the menu. She was working with us and doing her best to get the order correct. We were fine with it... We paid and waited patiently. The Saturday night manager " a very rude, impatient insecure looking bald guy" came over with the order and it was not correctly done. He treated her very disrespectfully and then reversed our order charge and made her recharge us again (higher charge) as he went to correct it. When he came back and handed me the order (which I had already paid for again) I looked inside and noticed it was not what I ordered. He snatched it out of my hand rudely, slammed it on a table behind him angrily and told me I had to pay for it. The whole restaurant is watching this... I told him I had already paid for it and I wanted to see if he got it correct this time. I also asked why he was being so rude by snatching the food that I already paid for and slamming it down on the table. It was embarrassingly rude. Turned out the order was wrong still and I had to ask for my money back after 40 minutes of waiting.. This manager is a problem and very rude. I FELT HORRIBLE and totally EMBARRASSED. I have rarely been treated so bad... STAY AWAY until they get a new manager there. He...
Read moreMy family and I have been going here several times a month for years, maybe around the last 5 years or so. We have always loved coming to this location & the Encino location. We know exactly what we like to order and developed our routine of ordering our favorite rolls after trying almost everything on the menu. Each time we come here we spend a decent amount of money around $100-$200+ worth of sushi because it was always delicious and worth it. We decided to order in last week from this Tarzana location and were beyond disappointed in our rolls. Several ingredients were missing and they stuffed such a small amount of fish with mostly rice. This roll is about $16 and for that price getting such a tiny amount of the actual fish is just disheartening since we basically paid $16 for rice, especially since we know how much fish it should have after coming here all these years. We spoke with the manager and tried to let her know how unhappy we were with these rolls and all she did was argue back. It is so sad to see what such a potentially amazing sushi place has become as their quality of sushi and service has completely dropped. We will not be coming back here anymore as there are so many other great sushi places in the valley that do actually give you your money's worth rather than overpricing rice....
