tl;dr: The forgettable cookies and unforgettable attitude makes this establishment a no-go.
Now for the whole story:
I've bought cookies here in the past (often after lunch at the deli next door), but never again. The cookies themselves were passable for my partner albeit consistently greasy for my mom's liking, so I haven't gone in for a few months.
Just before closing tonight I went to pickup a takeout order at the deli next door for my mom, who isn't feeling well. There wasn't a single space in the lot I could comfortably park my car--the only available space was unusable as the cars on either side were well over the lines--except both spaces in front of this bakery were open. Mind you, no other business has reserved parking here in this lot, just the bakery, which is telling. There was just 1 customer inside. I had tracked a man leaving another business to his car in the lot but after waiting for him for the better part of 10 minutes without him so much as turning the ignition I decided to just park in a bakery spot for the 2-3 minutes it would take me to pay for my mom's food, then maybe I'd get something sweet at the bakery for my partner (it's Valentine's Day after all!). Just then another vehicle pulled into the lot and took 1 of the 2 bakery spaces; I waited, anticipating the couple inside that car would exit, but they just sat there. So I parked in the other bakery space. That prompted the blonde woman from the bakery to come outside to chastise me for parking there. I asked why she wasn't upset at the other car for occupying the other space without so much as getting out, to which she gave me some flimsy excuse. Finally the other dude who I'd waited for backed out, so I took his space. I picked up my mom's dinner--I was in-and-out before the people in the other car in front of the bakery got out, for all I know they might still be sitting there!--but I wouldn't ever dare set foot in this bakery again after the way that witch treated me.
Being kind costs nothing. Being nasty will cost you customers.
For cookies you're better off going to Bea's. For Persian pastries, I've heard great things about Shirin and Baklava Factory, so I'll try those establishments for review in the...
Read moreMy wife purchased a tiramisu cake for my birthday when I cut the cake I saw 3 layers of cake and the rest was cream. I contacted Tarzana bakery and complained about the cake. Not only the owner did not acknowledge my complaint instead he got rude and didn’t care about my complaint. I don’t recommend purchasing from them. If you do you are wasting your time. Since they don’t refund or replace. I am including the picture of the cake mostly cream...
