My bf loves this place. Back in the he was a regular fixture at the bar. I must admit I have not had any of the food here, but have enjoyed the drinks. Their specials I think taste great and are constantly changing. One of the regular drinks I enjoy is the punch.... darn I can't remember the exact name... pancho's punch? But regardless it is good. The service here is super cool and friendly. They have TVs around but no sound as it's not a sport bar. So if you're looking for a cool place to watch the game this place is fine, just no sound. There is music in the background. _________________ Finally came here recently 2/2019 and tried their happy hour food selection. The food menu is very small only offering 3 items.... tacos, burrito and queso fundido. The drink had a more to offer. So I got one of each taco and for$1 during happy hour, that's an awesome deal. They offer soy, pollo, al pastor, carniras and barbacoa. All equally delicious but my favs would be the carnitas and the barbacoa. The tomatillo sauce I thought was delicious and went perfectly with the carnitas. The red sauce had a nice heat to it. The queso fundido came with plenty of what I believe were in house made tortilla chips. They were so yummy and nicely lightly salted and the perfect size. The cheese came with a chorizo on top which added great flavor. For drinks I stuck with the paloma. Delicious and hit of very light spice as it was rimmed with spicy salt. The bf got a spicy margarita. And it was spicy infused with jalapenos.

I used to bring and recommend this place to literally hundreds of coworkers and fellows in my industry for the better part of a decade. After tonight I won’t again until the manager addresses their employees. I showed up at 8:50 after a delayed Lyft after flying in and staying at an airport hotel. I was told “drinks only” and pleaded I knew what I wanted and came for the Al’Pastor from out of town. The “gentleman” behind the bar said the kitchen was closed but would make a one time exception. (They publish closing at 10pm, and I’ve often ate here after 10pm for many years) Shortly after my food was delivered, sitting at the bar, I was asked to move my food as they cleaned the bar at 9:10pm. (See the pic). The pastor is my fav and I travel and eat all around North America every week. Won’t be coming back here until this is addressed though. They also told me last call was at 9:15 even though they close at 10 on weeknights. I used to give this place 5 stars all day, but this was terrible customer service.

DEDICATED STAFF + AMAZING HAPPY HOUR We've been coming here for quite a long time. Each time it's been consistent and enjoyable. The place is always packed with professional locals. The happy hour is quite possibly the best, most underrated happy hour in Playa. The tacos, barbacoa even, are four for 6$. Get these with the queso funditio and chips as an appetizer, along with a few house cocktails and you'll be happy. The food has a lot of flavor, so you don't need much hot salsa. Their house made salsa is mild. They do offer Tapatio. I do secretly wish they made their own in-house spicy salsa. I feel like the staff who works here would know how to cultivate that, but they do what works. There is definitely an understanding though, that a custom heat might take it to the next level, but personally, I'm always chasing that hot sauce dragon. 🐉 10/10 will go again.

I stumbled into this incredible Mexican restaurant in LA, and I kid you not, the two bartenders behind the counter were like the kings of height restriction. These guys were so short, I thought I'd taken a detour into the Land of Lilliputians, but let me tell you, their skills were anything but small.

I waltzed in, eager to catch not one but two football games. Now, most places would've given me the old "Sorry, we can only play one game" routine, but not this dynamic duo. They happily changed the channel faster than a quarterback's snap, and I was in football heaven.

The best part? I ordered a margarita, and it came out of a beer tap. I mean, who does that? I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I'd accidentally wandered into some parallel universe, but that first sip was a revelation. It was like they'd bottled a fiesta and put it on tap – absolutely unbelievable.

Then came the food. Holy guacamole, it was fantastic. The flavors danced in my mouth like a salsa-tango, and I couldn't get enough. These two guys, as short as they were, made magic in that kitchen.

But here's the kicker – their humor was off the charts. They had me in stitches between bites. It was like having a stand-up comedy show with your meal. I couldn't help but laugh so hard that I nearly spat out my delicious margarita.

In the end, it was a great night. These little wizards behind the bar, their beer-tap margaritas, and the mouthwatering food made it a touchdown of an evening. So, if you're looking for an amazing Mexican restaurant with a side of hilarity in LA, look no further. This place is a fiesta waiting to...

I was in the Los Angeles area for a work trip and was lucky enough to have my cousin come pick me up from my hotel to go out to dinner. Even I wasn't comparing this to the mediocre and overpriced food I had been eating at my hotel, I would still be impressed.

We showed up in time to take advantage of happy hour so margaritas were definitely in order. The drinks were tasty, but a little on the small side. We also ordered up some nachos to share as an appetizer. I was blown away that they offered nachos topped with Soyrizo. If you are vegetarian ask for them not to put the normal cheese sauce on the nachos, it has a little bit of actual chorizo in it. (This makes no sense.. I know!)

For my main enter I ordered up some fish tacos. They offered me the choice of getting grilled or breaded fish; I opted for the grilled. My mean also came with a side of tortilla chips and some guacamole.

Overall I was pleased with both the drinks and food. The atmosphere was also pretty great. They have several televisions in the bar area, so this place might be great for catching a game. If I find myself in the Los Angeles area again, I'd patronize this...
