Ordered 1 app and 2 entrees from the traditional menu est. total cost around ~$58 pre-tip. Now, I do not know how traditional Indonesian food looks like but supposedly the entrees that I ordered are two plastic traditional versions. Both of them were a more fancy version of rice dishes. However, what an array of different flavors and mixes of what seems to be traditional sides and additions of Indonesian food.
Let's start with the the Roti Paratha appetizer... The thinness of the spread like food created such a crispy texture but a slight thinner soft clouds within the inner pieces of the bread. Then, you have the curry sauce that adds such a pleasure of soft and smooth curry flavor to it. Keep in mind that Indonesian curry is not for most people might think of curry. This curry is like a milky, saucy curry that blends in a sweet and smooth flavor. Job well done Simpang!
Now the entrees...Nasi Bunkus & Nasi Kuning (festival rice). If you're looking for an experience to taste Indonesian cuisine, these two are highly recommended if you want to add rice dishes to your portfolio. Both felt somewhat similar and an array of mixing additions of different meats, nuts, noodles, etc. Highly recommend both for an experience! The Nasi Kuning had a number of popular Indonesian dishes including chicken sate (satay), noodles, and beef rendang to name a few. Be prepared for a full belly of a good mix between protein and carbs!
The restaurant almost gives you a feeling that you are on an Asian street food area. Obviously, you are indoors and there is a very casual, wooden type of environment which common for many traditional Asian...

Plenty of seating all around with combination of tables with chairs and cushioned benches that can be easily arranged for small to large size groups.
Some items in the menus are similar to the sister property of the original Simpang Asia, but there are uniquely innovative dishes that are only available at the Venice location, such as the Pad Thai that reminisces the char kway teao with familiar taste of traditional pad thai.
Other dishes we had there are nasi goreng, roti phratha, sate ayam, and laksa which are all very tasty in their own right.
The drinks are really good too, including the egg coffee (Hanoi style), teh tarik, and the iced Vietnamese coffee.
Service is friendly, prompt and efficient.
There's a small parking lot at the back side for all Lincoln...
Read moreThere’s so much to choose from here, and everything I’ve tried has been excellent. The kwetiau goreng is the standout dish for me. I love the chewiness of the flat rice noodles paired with all the flavors of the chicken and veggies. I do prefer it to the mie tek tek, which I find has a stronger flavor but is also still delicious. The serving size isn’t huge but I think it’s enough to get you full, and the pricing is fair for the quality and area.
Wait staff is always friendly, service is quick, and the place has a modern, clean feel that’s made even better with recent renovations and expansions. The parking lot can fill up on a busy evening, but there’s some free street parking in the residential area nearby as well as another parking lot behind the building. I’ve found on off weekdays it’s pretty quiet, but there’s restaurant does fill up...
