I went to this same location a week ago during the day shift at lunch time and it was a lot busier than it was tonight and our server Amber was AMAZING!!!! The food was ok and we had a good experience! However tonight I visited the same location and with my children and not only was the service incredibly horrible but the food was so off I had to send mine back. First after sitting over 10 after we were seated, they came to take our order. After taking our order it took the waitress almost 20 minutes just to bring our drinks, and may I add I had to remind them before they did so! My kids ordered their food and I had to remind them to bring my daughter her pancakes. I ordered a steak and asked for garlic bread and brown gravy. The young lady Did not tell me they no longer serve that and when they brought my food they even forgot to bring the white paste they call gravy now. So the manager then brings me the gravy and I explained to him that it wasn’t what I ordered. His response was “seriously, you don’t want this” to which I responded no thank you. He took at back. At this point cut into my steak, which I ordered medium rare and oh and behold it is so cooked I could use it for a frisby. Now it’s dennys I’m not expecting lawrys but I do expect to get my order correct. The waitress never comes back to check on our table and one of her coworkers brought our food out. Once she took the order she was out! Once I saw my steak was incorrectly cooked I asked the MANAGER to please come to our table. He said one moment and never came back. I sat there for 10 minutes watching my children eat their food and him walk around attending to everything else except the fact that I requested his presence at our table. After about 13 minutes because I began timing the waitress walked over because she saw my food sitting on an empty table next to ours, to ask what was wrong. He then walked over behind her as I was visibly irritated at this point. I simply asked for them to take that steak off my check and bring me my Check! When I went to pay he then tells me well, she’s only been here a week. Ok that’s ok for her but what was the excuse for his poor service. And to top it off the restroom was disgusting with fecal matter on the toilet seat! Needless to say I will not be returning to that Dennys and I will spread the word to all I know to not patronize that location either! Poor service and disgusting environment! And please note even after that i still left the young lady server a $5 tip because she was new and her poor training isn’t her fault but it falls on management! I seriously wish I could give them less than 1 star and I surely do not see how they have a 3.8 rating! I will post this all over every social media outlet I can think of. I don’t want anyone I know to experience the poor service, excuses and food that I did tonight. And the manager, if you can’t multitask than please give your position to...
Read moreWORST management ever!! First time I dealt w this person was during a take-out. Stopped the hostess from helping me in the middle of me telling her my pick up name and forced her to help someone else in a different line. The point of a “Pick up” line is to separate from “dine in” guest. Someone needs to explain that to him and how he should of waited till our interaction was complete before he proceeded to “tell her how to do her job” since that’s how he put it. Next time was 2 months later I decided to stop in and get a late lunch, walked in waited about 5 mins before I was acknowledged, upon observing what was going on I could tell that there was an issue with staffing since I only saw one waitress running back and forth from tables to the kitchen and so forth. I see the same gentlemen and he is putting together a to go order, with all this going on I’m completely ok with waiting a moment to be seated. The manager walked passed by me twice before acknowledging my presence (a simple I’ll be right with you) would of been perfect. When he did ask me what “I needed” I explained to him I was looking to be seated and preferred a booth if possible. He responded to me with the rudest of tones saying “I’ll see what I can do I have no service” as he was fumbling w his phone looking in another direction. Their was plenty of seating in the dining room, being that there were only 6 tables seated. When he did get around to me again about 8 mins later, he told me to follow him and threw the menu on the table and walked away not saying anything else. This person should be cleaning toilets and not managing a restaurant. I only hope that he treats his staff better than the customers but seeing that he was understaff I seriously doubt many people are willing to deal with him. I will say the food was great and the server was extremely pleasant and quick. Unfortunately I will not be spending any more money or time with...
Read moreOn January 13, 2025 evening, I visited the Denny's on Crenshaw with my uncle, and I feel compelled to share my experience in the hopes that the situation will be addressed.
First, I want to acknowledge the incredible service from the African American lady who assisted us. She was kind, attentive, and worked hard to meet the needs of every customer despite being clearly overwhelmed. She deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service.
However, the situation was significantly marred by the lack of support from the manager, a Hispanic, thin woman. She was visibly walking around the dining area but did not engage with customers or assist the overwhelmed server. While the right side of the restaurant was packed with guests, the manager did not contribute to serving food or help out at the register, leaving the single server to handle the entire section. This caused long wait times, and many guests, including myself, noticed the growing frustration among customers.
It was clear that the manager was not addressing the needs of the restaurant or its customers. In addition to assisting the server, the manager should be greeting customers upon arrival and helping to alleviate bottlenecks, especially during peak times.
Given the frustration from patrons and the clear failure in leadership, I believe a conversation with the manager is necessary. It is essential that she improve her engagement with both customers and staff to ensure a more efficient and pleasant dining experience.
I hope that Denny's corporate team will take this feedback seriously and work towards improving both customer service and staff management at this location.
Thank you for your attention to...
