2025 Update

I miss fonuts. Everyone raised their prices for simple yeast donuts to the prices I had complained about fonuts for having. It’s pigeons out here! I’m paying $4 for some yeast when i could be having fonūts. somebody save the world from this madness.

The donuts are bomb. They're everything I could want for vegan/ gf. Although they are all baked beware that everything isn't actually vegan/ gf. Only the marked ones are.

There used to be a coconut flavor but it's gone now? That one was my favorite. Plus they had a happy hour where the donuts would become half priced, a much more approachable business model.

Also the prices are bit steep, what you could expect one this gentrified area of town. They even went up by a $1.00 per donut! ($4.50 for one fonut). Which meant before it was $36 instead of now $52 for a dozen! It was already high.

There needs to be an understanding that being gluten free/vegan isn't a luxury. Most of Los Angeles lives in a food desert, so making this model a bit more affordable and accessible for us would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE *

I've been to other places with vegan, but not gf donuts charging similar prices. Comparatively these prices are cool. I just don't understand the gap in donut pricing. There's no comfortable in between. I'm either paying $.69 for a donut from a mom and pop, or $4.00...

I don’t like to write bad reviews, but... Zero stars!! Extremely rude, greedy and unprofessional. First of all fonuts are too overpriced, too sweet, feels like eating pure sugar. Second, today they’ve told me that I can’t collect their points, purchasing them one by one and that they gonna remove them. I’m getting six or more, and it’s still not enough money for them. People, if you’re so greedy, change your system. You have to learn how to treat your customers if you want to keep them. There are many places with gluten free vegan options, who respect their guests and not trying to get as much money as possible from them. Customer is always right, if I’m using your square pay, I can use it however I want to, don’t like it? Change it! Highly not recommended, I know other people who’ve had such problem with them. Better go to amazing cupcake places close by, where they treat you good and always have a great reward program available. Disgusting donuts with greedy complaining rude owner with too much attitude, go educate yourself and learn how to deal with people if you want to keep...

Was online looking for a place to get vegan treats for our sons upcoming 1st birthday party. And fonuts popped up.

Although this is a very cute, chic place, their fonuts (donuts) are a bit on the overload sweet side.

We tried four of their vegan flavors: raspberry vanilla, churro, vanilla, and dark maple. The only two that were bearable were the churro and vanilla. And out of those two, the churro tastes the best, although we still ended up scraping some of the frosting off. I can say, it taste much better (with a decaf cup of coffee) the next day after being refrigerated, since it held itself together wayyyy better, as in it was more solid. The first day I bought them, they would fall apart as we bit into them.

Also, the location isn't ideal if you aren't a local to the area, not sure if that was their purpose, but there is an uphill battle to find a park for this experience.

However, their staff is great! Very personable, friendly, and eager to assist with questions.

Overall, I honestly wouldn't go back anytime soon due to the overwhelming sweetness and...

10 years ago if i said, “try this it’s gluten free and vegan” chances are you would have said “NO” and that would’ve probably been proceeded by some expletive. Flash forward to 2023 and I can confidently say “gluten free” “vegan” - in some cases, CAN be better than it’s conventional counterpart. My wife and youngest son are gluten-free and dairy free, so I’ve tried a lot of what’s out there in that department - and sometimes the texture of the gluten free flours makes for a softer and more delicate pastry or bread. Which makes me excited to tell you about Fonuts. Everything is gluten free, and everything you see me sampling in this video is also dairy free. I would say these resemble little cakes in donut form. My favorite was the Banana Chocolate - sweetened only by the bananas and the chocolate chips. Ok, the negative - these are expensive at around $5 each. A half dozen will set you back $35. This is primarily due to the good quality ingredients, the time and work that goes in to crafting these, so it all adds up. I suggest the mini-fonuts as an option to sample a lot of them AND they are less than half the price as the larger ones. I’ve watched my youngest son get so bummed out by not being able to eat certain things that it hurts me. So being able to bring him a treat like this once in a while is worth almost anything just to see him feel “normal” for a little bit. Thank you Fonuts for a delicious product and thank you for your dedication to your craft ❤️ . @fonuts . 📍FONUTS -The Enlightened Donut 8104 West 3rd St, L.A., Ca 12065 Ventura Place, Studio City, Ca . . . . . #lafoodie #glutenfree #vegan #donuts #fonuts

Amazing gem of a place serving up gluten free donuts, some of which are vegan. Surrounded by loads of incredible gf and vegan donut and pastry places back home in Australia, it was so lovely to source this place out. TEAM: We were blown away more than anything else, by the service. The person (I think they had colourful hair) who served us: a 10/10 champion, clearly takes great pride in their work and loves what they do. I haven't stopped talking about how bubbly, efficient, knowledgeable and compassionate they were. You made my week! The only place I can think of that comes close, in customer service to the magic castle hotel. TIP: Go early if you're keen to get variety as their popular ones can sell out by early morning. Thank you so much for nourishing our tastebuds and souls.
