Should be called Korean 'themed' BBQ, or 'In the style of' Korean BBQ because there are no Koreans running it or eating there. Similar to AYCE Korean BBQ in the area, this is a sort of Korean BBQ 'inspired' venue that has some classic K-BBQ elements, but then brings in all sorts of other stuff. Possibly latin owned as it had carne asada and al pastor on the menu?!? Okay so they aren't Korean, is that so bad? Not entirely, but when you want authentic Mexican food, do you go to a place like Robertos, Filibertos, Adalbertos, etc... or do you go to On the Border? You see my point? Similar is not exactly hitting the mark. Facts: Rice is the Chinese kind, the kimchi is terrible, they don't serve steamed egg, and they serve the smallest pieces of galbi I have ever seen. They give you a sauce tray with a sweet soy sauce, sesame oil (kirum) in the middle, and some type of salt & seasoning on the other side, however they don't know what Kirum jang is. - (mixture of sesame oil and salt for meat dipping). Again, the parts are there they just don't know what to do with them. Also, so many rules! And they give you a QR code for the menu but then you get no signal inside... so better ask for the analog menu at the front. The staff were all nice and helpful, so no fault by them, save our server who kept calling me 'Boss'. Little too informal for my tastes. Place looks like a night club from Scarface, so probably fun at night. Middle tables have no vent hoods, so place gets smoky fast. Price isn't too bad, and they didn't charge for our kids (8) and (5), so out the door cost was okay. Not hating on them, but it wasn't Korean. Good luck to their idea but we will go to an actual K-BBQ next time.

My family and I went here around an hour and a half before closing time, without a reservation. We waited for 15-20 minutes to be seated. (FYI reservations must be made a day ahead) Cleanliness: Super clean, vents above every single table. Floors were a bit sticky, but it was end of the night, so forgivable in my opinion. Interior/atmosphere: Interior is cute. Blue lighting may not seem the most photo friendly, but surprisingly all our photos turned out great. Atmosphere was bright and lively. Perfect place to hang out and have a drink, go on a date or have a meal with family. Food: We ordered quite a few things, but our favorites were the spicy pork, and marinated short ribs. Make sure you order these two. We are Korean and know our stuff. Also, the portions are quite tiny, so make sure you ask for more depending on how many people you are with. Service: The service was good. However, because the place is packed and always busy, make sure you order a bunch of stuff at once, or you will be left hungry waiting to order the next round. Tip: If you order plain and marinated meats, grill them on opposite sides. Also, make sure to cut the the thicker slices with your scissors ahead of time. If your grill gets charred, you can always aked them to change it out, so don't worry! Parking: TONS. Don't worry about it.

I was hesitant about Visiting this place since I've never visited one before but my kids have plenty of times. Upon arrival, the place was full, but we got a table right away. The place is big and very nicely decorated, the tables are comfortable and spacious. We ordered the regular menu at the beginning, which was a mistake since the quality of the meat was very low, so we ended up upgrading to the deluxe menu, which made a big difference. Not only is meat better quality, but the seasoning on some of the items is much better. We ordered different varieties of meat, but our favorite one was the Wagyu, which was delicious. The deluxe menu comes with free alcoholic drinks; I ordered the King's Bliss. It was delicious, and my son ordered the blue lemonade, but his taste was too strong. The customer service at the beginning was excellent, but as time passed, they forgot to bring us what we requested. We waited 15 minutes for our meat to arrive at the end. The calamari was very tough and the coating was very thick compared to other places. The shrimp from the regular menu doesn't come pre-seasoned, but the one from the deluxe menu does, so it makes a big difference flavor-wise. The price is higher than other places around the area. Overall the experience was okay, I will definitely give it another try.

Been coming here for years now and always came back because I loved the idea of eating meat till I was full, but today was a Good/Bad day mixed. Normally I would eat inside but had an anniversary with my gf and decided at home. Ordered takeout with a simple order of 2 servings of rices, side salad dressings, and 2 pounds of brisket. Everything went well till I got home and found that I had no brisket at all, just a bag with 2 trays of rice and just salad dressings.I called to report what had happened and they were confused with what went wrong. They first said that my order was taken by someone from doordash and they couldn't do anything about it and I told them that I order inside. The person on the phone told me to wait to see what they can do and hung up the phone. This made me extremely angry but what made me more angry is when I called the place again the same guy answered and apologized, told me to wait and then came back saying that everything was there and that 4 people checked the order and Interpreted that I took the meat and was trying to get a free meal..... This sent me so HARD that I didn't know I could get so mad. I proceeded to tell him that, "well see about that and I'll be coming to the store and seeing what happens" He told me that was fine..... I came into the store and asked for help on an order that was not full filled. They took a while but someone came and told me what was the issue. I briefly told him what happened, showed him the picture of the food found at home freshly opened(ALL THERE), And the bag with food in question. This man was very respectful and extremely understanding. He did his job well and made sure to see what exactly happened. Long story short we finally got the meat that was missing and he apologized for what happened. He said that someone took the bag back in the kitchen thinking that no one was going to take it anytime soon. He took the time to actually do his job and DID IT WELL! Never been ripped off from my orders before and because of this man named,"Arturo" I still have not been ripped off. Thanks to this great man I left knowing I got justice for my food. What I wanted to rate is [1 Star is now 4] because of this Manager named "Arturo".if you are seeing this review I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day and...

The slang definition for GEN is knowledge/information. So here is the gen on Gen KoreanBBQ in Northridge.

Mediocre at best. My wife an I went there for a late lunch and arrived there a few minutes before 3:00 pm. The wait wasn't long which isn't a surprise at this time. The young lady that sat us down was very nice and polite. She advised us that it is the dinner menu now (since our wait took us past 3:00 pm) and the price doubled.

The waiter was also very nice and polite, constantly checking on us. While we waited for our food, I took a look around to see the ambiance... I'm still trying to find it.

For being a Korean BBQ, the look of the place was very industrial. No Asian/Korean decor anywhere (other than the Korean word on the menu). Exposed ceiling, outlet boxes for some of the lighting and cameras were apparently missing some screws and a few of them were dangling

Cleanliness has a lot of room for improvement. The floor was sticky in some areas and slippery in others (which is not good for a guy using a cane). The table next to is did not get cleaned until we were 75 - 80% done with our meal. Even our used dishes we not picked up after we moved the meat that we ordered to the grill.

The food was bland. What they call "premium steak" is just a fancy cut of a basic meat. The calamari was just a breaded squid stick, for those that don't know any different, they could mistake it for a matzerella stick. They only brought out 3 sides where every other Koreon BBQ place gives 6 to 9 before the meat comes

My wife and I are trying to get back in the groove of trying a new place/style to eat at least once a week. We love trying new places and new types of food that we may not have discovered before. Most of the time it's a great experience, but once in a while (like this time) we find a place we will not go back to.

Most of the online photos that you can find online, appear to be promotional.

I wouldn't recommend this place, but if you decide to go there...

This KBBQ’s food is good like most KBBQ, can’t go wrong. But the service was surprisingly terrible. I’ve never been to a or any restaurant that made us wait for so long. I didn’t mean the seating because we got seated pretty quick, waited probably 5 minutes but the service when it came to our food was horrible. My friend ordered water without ice yet they delivered ice water to her. No big deal just switch it but it took forever. Later, a fly touched her straw and then the water. And we didn’t even bother to ask for another drink because it would probably take 30 minutes or long. No joke. From our time being seated to finishing our food, it took us 2 and half hours. Our food didn’t all arrived together. They delivered the wrong food to us twice. We had to ask multiple times for our food and they kept on forgetting it. They did seem short staff but there was definitely a flaw in the system. Either they need to write it down manually or on a tablet so they can get the correct order or hire more staffs. This please looks like a decent size but it’s not fully functioning maybe due to low staffing and horrible service? Not to mention just the poor service of this place…I didn’t even get the sides I wanted. The pictures from other reviews showed multiple little sides like cucumber and kimchi, we only got four of them…and when we finished (Since they don’t come in a big portion) it took like an hr to get filled. My tofu soup which was my favorite didn’t even come in time. I was mostly full and filled with these stuff I didn’t even want to eat (two wrong orders). The other customer were upset at the service and complained to the manager and they gave two of the people in the group free. We should’ve said something so we didn’t have to pay for this kind of service either but instead we paid and I gave them 20% of tips because I felt bad for the waiter. If they change something about their service, they’ll definitely do well and be at 4...
