My brother Armin is regular here, and he always brings me their wonderful Ash when he stops by. since I am Vegan, this is one of handfull of places that has Vegan Owrsian food last time I tried their Ashdh Torsh, ( sour Ash/soup, ) OMG, this Ash should be Illigal , Lol, 1st time you try it, you will get Addicted to it after just one taste It is made with Tamarind which gives it its wonderful sour flavor then there are the pieces of Turnips, I now drive an hour half once a week to buy this soup, and yeah two large orders, Trust me you can No just eat one bowl of this you will go for second and third refills. Also their She Reshteh, Noodle hearty soup with beans , is the best soup when you are feeling down, it is the make you feel warm and good soup, According to Legends it is the soup that cures all, Lol, featured on sinfield. My family loves their kebabs and stews. You can also get the Kebabs on a skewer fully marinated r and eady to cook at home. They are ready on the skewer you put a small deposit for the skewers and cook them fresh on your own BBQ @ home. They Also have Vegan Options on their Stews, Their Ghormeh Sabzi is great. And they have a full butcher shop as well this is a one of a kind place in Los Angeles and must I'd you live near La Cienega and Pico Boulevard neighborhood, or if you're a visitor or tourist in the area this should be one of your must stops for delicious food and fresh best selection of meat you could only get at your local Butcher shops. Make sure you have quarters for parking meter, do not do double park, parking enforcement is very active in thei area. Bon appetit,...
Read moreThe food was delicious and customer service was great as well! I just wish their kitchen wasn't hidden as it is. Make me feel like they're hidden something...
Update: while the food is good, I experienced a bad customer service experience on new year's eve. And I've seen how unclean they are when they touch money and right after the meats. Therefore I reduced the stars to 1 from 4.
Update 2 in response to business reply: Getting an A from the health department doesn't mean there were no violations. You can have even 3-4 violations and still get an A as long as they are not major violations. Instead of refuting what I alleged as if I lied (which I don't see a reason to) you should look into my review with good faith and improve upon it. A kitchen design from 25 years ago may not be appropriate to the kitchen standards we have these days or expected by many customers. Believe me, I will come back to evaluate your restaurant soon and I will adjust my review as I did before according to my last experience. The better you will be the more I and others will visit your store. It is that simple. Good luck, your food is...
Read moreWe decided to stop by for lunch at this place and glad we did. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is clean. I ordered the koobideh and shirazi salad. The koobideh was very good - it was perfectly seasoned and very juicy and the shirazi salad was very fresh (which is rare in most restaurants), so I was quite impressed. My husband had the Olivie salad and Ash Reshte and he loved both. Impressed!
So, this is an extension of the first review I wrote 5 months ago.
"Ghormeh Sabzi" is one of the trickiest Persian stews to make right! It is not only a favourite among many Persian families but also other cultures. I've had many ghorme sabzi dishes all over, and I will say that the ghorme sabzi they make at Faraj is so far the best I've had. The ingredient balance, texture, seasoning and settling of the stew is right on point, and what makes it even better is that it is consistent. It is one of their regular dishes we pick up and each time it tastes absolutely delicious. If you've never had ghrome sabzi and want to try it for the first time or have had it...
