This has quickly become my favorite BBQ spot in the area, and I've lived in the South for a year. Gus' does an awesome job, all of the meats are cooked fresh throughout the day/night, it's all tender and cooked perfect, and the flavor is amazing. Definitely try the Cast Iron Cornbread it's lovely, light, and soft, buttery, crispy, and the Smokehouse Chili is so good with the cornbread, it has big chunks of super tender brisket and a mix of different beans. We've also tried the Deviled Eggs, and they are extremely good, you can taste the vinegar in them, like they actually have flavor and don't just taste like egg, and the Pulled Pork Nachos are for sure worth trying--their pulled pork is perfect, and we've also had it in the BBQ Quesadilla, which was yummy. We usually split a Chicken or Ribs and 2 Meat Combo, which is more than enough food for two people to share, and we really like the French Fries and the Tangy Slaw--their fries are very good here, I like them better than the mashed potatoes for sure. And make sure to ask for a side of Ranch, because they definitely make it in-house, it is so light and fresh, probably the best ranch dressing I've ever had. The Baked Beans are always worth getting too, but honestly, just get a bowl of their Chili if you want beans, it has so much flavor. We always get the Fried Chicken, they give you a huge piece, it is very delicious, and it comes with Gravy, but seriously, get the Ranch Dressing! The Ribs here are amazing too, both the pork and the beef ribs, they are fantastic, they always sell out, that's how good they are. I've had the Gus' Famous Burger, and it is a very very good burger--get it medium rare--I for sure recommend. Their BBQ sauces are both very good, try them both, and don't forget the Red Pepper Vinegar sauce, it tastes so delicious on literally everything. We also really like getting a Blueberry Mint Lemonade and a Sweet Tea, and then mixing them together to make like a Blueberry Arnold Palmer, it is SO amazing. The lemonade is a little too sweet, and the sweet tea isn't quite sweet enough, so mixing them together is the perfect mix. We've also tried a couple of desserts, The Butter Sheet Cake which is oh my gosh amazing, so perfectly sweet and light, and the brown butter toffee ice cream with it is perfect. And then we've had the Blueberry Biscuit Cobbler, and it was so good, almost like crispy with pieces of super soft fluffy biscuit to soak up the vanilla ice cream, and with the blueberries, it's well-balanced, and almost light. The service is always friendly, and you can sit indoors or on the patio, but get there early, or it can be a 30-50 minute wait. We've been back so many times and pretty much anything you get is going to be good, except the milkshakes. Just fyi, the milkshakes are expensive, and it was very liquidy and not much ice cream. But you don't come here for the milkshakes, you come here for the meat, and this place is hands down one of the best...

During a little mini getaway, we met up with friends for lunch at Gus’s, and honestly, “amazing” doesn’t even begin to describe it. This place is next-level fantastic—a true standout that I can’t stop thinking about.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth. Our server was sweet and attentive, and what I can only guess was the general manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome. They were all about creating the perfect experience—helping us pick the right table, making conversation, and ensuring we felt at home. The vibe is fun and relaxed, with decor that matches the energy. Our big table gave us plenty of space to settle in and enjoy the feast.
And oh, the feast. We kicked things off with deviled eggs that were absolutely to die for—they disappeared almost instantly. Next up were the wings, and let me tell you, these were no ordinary wings. They were giant, meaty, perfectly seasoned with their secret rub, and packed a spicy kick that was just the right kind of heat. The sauces on the side were incredible, offering layers of flavor to play with. Honestly, I can’t stop thinking about them!
Even though we were pretty full, we had to try the brisket. It was tender, smoky, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious—definitely a share-worthy portion. And while I can’t remember exactly what everyone else ordered, every bite was a hit.
What really stood out, beyond the food, was the service. As the place got busier, the manager didn’t just stand by—he jumped in, delivering food, refilling water glasses, and making sure drinks were topped off. The staff anticipated our needs so well that we never once had to ask for anything. That level of care made the whole experience feel seamless and special.
And just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, we finished with the butter cake. It was rich, decadent, and the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. There were four of us, and we couldn’t even finish it, but every bite was worth savoring.
Even with the rainy weather, this lunch was a highlight of our trip. Gus’s isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place you’ll be thinking about long after you leave. I’m already dreaming about those wings and can’t wait to come back. If you’re a barbecue fan (or just a fan of incredible food and top-notch service), Gus’s is...
Read moreThis was our first time dining at Gus’s and not only was the food absolutely scrumptious, but the customer service was superb and reminiscent of that southern charm you hear about. I can’t emphasize enough how kind and attentive every single wait staff was, and there were multiple people servicing our table throughout our entire dining experience. We felt so welcomed to be there!
Now, about the food—if I could give this place 10 stars, it still wouldn’t be enough! 😋 EVERYTHING was delicious! We started with spinach dip w/ fresh chips and salsa and an order of the onion strings, and the freshness was evident in every single bite. You can tell that they make the chips in house, which were so flaky and crunchy, you can enjoy them without dipping them in a anything at all. The onion strings were so well seasoned and didn’t leave that oily residue you often see when food is cooked without allowing the oil to get hot enough first. They were sooo yummy! ☺️ we also wanted to try their grits (I know—super random…lol), which had a creamed corn flavor. Since I’m not a fan of that flavor, I didn’t favor this dish however, I’m certain others would enjoy it. My husband and son had the Gus’s burger with fries and proclaimed it to be one of the best burgers they’ve had in a while. My daughter and I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were so light and fluffy that we didn’t feel guilt for devouring every morsel of it! Lol! The chicken though??? INCREDIBLE! I’m hard to please when it comes to restaurant fried chicken but this chicken was sooooo well seasoned and moist all the way through and cooked to perfection. It’s very difficult to find restaurant fried chicken breasts that are cooked thoroughly while maintaining the crispy skin and incredibly moist meat, but this restaurant nailed it! The chicken and waffles are served with a side of spicy watermelon, which is an added treat! The watermelon was so juicy and delicious, and the spice added a very unique twist to an old favorite. Overall, this place was slammin and my very picky family can’t wait to go back to discover more from their...
