Handi Kabab House — Restaurant in Los Angeles

A small place located in a dim light area of LA. Our search for halal asian food landed us here at around 9:50PM, unsure about the food as it was newly opened and didn't have enough reviews on 1st April 2018(i know kinda late for a review, but its worth it). It was about to close and he said that no more dine-in orders. I requested him that me and my parents have been traveling and it would be great if we can dine-in quickly. He was kind enough to agree to our request. We ordered chicken boti kebab starter, and chicken tikka masala(CTM) with 3 garlic nan's along with a chicken biryani.

Trust me, being a food enthusiast this was the best CTM I have had in USA. Wasn't too sweet, the hotness was well balanced with the creaminess of the curry. The kebabs in CTM were so succulent that it satisfied every taste bud of mine. (i ain't exaggerating!!).

Chicken tikka boti was also equally good. Very soft and juicy. The biryani was such a perfect Dum Biryani you can get anywhere. The flavors reflected "experience".

after the meal, I was too curious to know who was the chef! And as I had already imagined it turned out to be a 50+ year old uncle who has been cooking all his life.

I definitely would advice to visit this place and try it out. It will be worth it.

P.s. Ordering Home is not exactly same as dining in there. The taste changes drastically.

What a disappointment! I ordered a chicken tikka masala with naan bread and it wasn't ready on time. The place wasn't open and so I had to wait until one of their workers stepped out to get something from outside. The boy tells me they're closed but I tell him I just ordered something 10 mins ago for pick up. He just points back to the cashier. So I pick up my plate and realize they don't include a side of rice with your chicken tikka masala (ok?) so I request to order a side of plain rice to go. I was so excited to try the tikka masala from this place seeing the reviews but it turned out to look and taste more like a bowl of tasteless oil! The chicken wasn't even decent, tasteless and hard to chew. The garlic naan was also below acceptable with whole pieces of garlic on top? Weird. The only ok thing was their PLAIN rice. Even their service was off and they apparently need their hours updated bc I overheard they open at 4pm when it says on the site they would be...

I started to not to trust these reviews as I can’t believe this same restaurant got still good rate ! The guy ( the owner) he is the rudest restaurant owner I met in my visits over 60 countries... The restaurant was completely empty when we arrive, it is a dirty and old place and we wanted to seat next to window for a quick lunch and he wanted us to move to back table where we can see all his dirty kitchen and we didn’t wanted to move and ask for service in the table next to window . He refused and he said he already set up ( just put 2 dish and 2 glass) we insisted to sit next to window and we had an argument if we didn’t ordered bu phone in advance we would just leave but the food was almost ready so we just grab few pieces and left this restaurant. This person for sure have attitude problem and he doesn’t like the area and people around the area where he operates his restaurant. So go somewhere else if you have...
