I live around the corner from this hotel and I tend to see a lot of Europeans staying in the hotel and/or walking to liquor store around the corner. I feel awkward because not only do they look out of place in this neighborhood, I LOOK OUT OF PLACE here as an American. And I live here. It's a Central American neighborhood (Guatemala, El Salvador), it's not touristy or inviting like Chinatown or Koreatown, but it is close to DTLA. There's really nothing "American" here except for the country in which the hotel is located. ||||If you are looking for Central American food and whatnot, then by all means visit. The restaurants typically cater to local immigrants, but they would be extremely happy and appreciative if you were to visit, especially from Europe. ||||The hotel itself is probably tolerable for a night (I've stayed in worse), but there's nothing interesting or American in the surrounding area.||||I mention this because I stayed in a hotel in Munich in 2015 (Hotel Royal) when I had a 20-hour layover to India, and the hotel itself was nice but I was like WTH? Where's the German culture? It was not at all what I expected Germany to be. The area was Little Baghdad or something. ||||So I imagine Europeans will probably feel the same about this hotel/area. ||||I'd recommend spending a bit more on hotels closer to DTLA if you can afford it or consider staying in Koreatown where there's a lot more going on (and the subway will get you to DTLA in only a couple stops).||||And if you do choose to stay at this "hotel," there are a few gems in the area:||||Porchetta Republic (Italian sandwiches -- very good and authentic)||The taco stand on 7th/Union -- very tasty and authentic tacos||The Monty Bar on 7th St.||The Colombian Restaurant nearby (affordable but beer/wine only)||The Donut Shop at 8th/Union (good American donuts and coffee. Very cheap)||||||Additional tip: if you're walking from the hotel to Downtown, you should take 7th. street. 8th is safe (maybe even safer) but a more boring walk. ||||Movies filmed/taking place in this neighborhood: Training Day, Falling Down, Street Kings, The Fast and the...

The hotel it's old but it's very clean and I don't care because I feel it is like home and the employees make you feel as your family the hotel have some laws like after you live 23 days you should to move and come back because of Corona when I moved I feel wired while the hotel I moved to it new. But I didn't feel well until I back to it. Also the cleaners are very welcomes and very friendly they knocking the door very much slower not like other knocking very strong and open the door not because they don't want to clean they just want to see what you doing and if you are not in the room they stoling and go with out clean. This hotel not touches anything also they asked before getting in can I enter. They clean everyday and they give you all what you need. More over the hotel give time for extending your room not like other hotel at 11 you should to move or extends. One time they let stay and give time until 6 pm because my phone was crashed if I in other hotel they'll kick me out from 11 and I went to fixed my phone but it's could not because some water in it after that they give there phone to extend no one will do it even the regular people. Some time I come late and they are sleeping and I forget my keys inside the room and I woke them up to get keys if anyone woke him up even regular people they will be very mad even me but they come with smiling and I apologise for that and they told me you don't to need to apologise you'll never find like this even if he woke up. The boss of the hotel make you feel he as regular one also he is the owner not like other hotel they do anything thing to show off because he wants to show you he the boss. At the end I love the hotel and they are like my family. And it's cheaper than the apartment because they not care about money more than you. First the costumers after that the money.
