I've been coming to this location once a week for several months now and Every time I come it's a different situation. Either I have to wait over 10-15 for a waiter then I have to wait over 20mins for three originals short stack pancakes.
When the pancakes come out they are always burnt every freakin time. I have to send them back for fresh, fluffy pancakes. This is ihop how could you ruin pancakes.
This last time today was the last straw. The hostess tried to seat me and one other person and walked us around the restaurant and every table was dirty.
We finally just sat at a table that was somewhat clean we waited for someone to come and ask us for drinks we waited for ten mins. Then we just ordered then because my girlfriend and I get the same thing every time we split a shortstack that's it simple we never get menus because we are in and out.
A couple got sat 10 mins after us their food came out before us and they order five plates of food. We are still sitting there 30 mins later no pancakes so of course when the pancakes came they were burnt butter not melting just sitting there hard as a rock. I asked for the manager I said that every time we come it's always something and that we are leaving and don't want the pancakes he didn't apologize and he didn't acknowledge the situation at all he just said I'll take it off the bill and walked away. We left and we will never return.
Shoutout to OMAR NERI the manager with no customer service experience at all and no empathy...
Read moreThe food here was absolutely delicious—10/10. The steak was tender, the pancakes and eggs were perfectly fluffy, the sausages were cooked just right, and the cinnamon bun crepe was so good I’d come back for it alone. Truly, the kitchen did a fantastic job. That said, I did have one uncomfortable moment. When it came time to pay, the server (who I believe was overwhelmed and working alone up front) signed the receipt for me without asking. I caught it right away and told him that I needed to be the one to sign. He cleared his signature, I signed, and he casually joked that he was "close" with mine. I let him know that's not allowed. He brushed it off and got back to his other tables, but it left me feeling uneasy. To be fair, this man was handling almost everything—taking orders, seating guests, ringing people up, and running food. There seemed to be only two other staff: one cleaning tables and another possibly handling to-go orders. I only saw what might have been a manager briefly bring food to one table. So while I completely understand the pressure he was under, signing for someone—even with good intentions—isn’t okay. I hope this location gets the staffing support it clearly needs, because the food is worth coming back for. But the front-of-house needs help, both for the staff’s sake and...
Read moreI enjoy my neighborhood IHOP. It is small, intimate, and has the friendliest servers. Went there recently to get a breakfast meal at night. The waitress who served me was so sweet and hospitable towards me. Each time i come to the Tarzana location, the employees try so hard to make me feel welcome and cared for. I ordered the senior 55+ 2×2×2. Two eggs, two bacon or sausage, hash browns, and toast. It was so delicious! IHOP always has extremely fresh eggs each and every time. I think they get their eggs locally, so the eggs are fresh.
The only downside is when they become busy late at night, they don't have enough waiters to adequately take care of everyone quickly. This is not their fault. It's the fault of the company. Still, it is worth the wait for the nice conversations and friendly help. Come by this location and eat from their fabulous menu of breakfast items, hamburgers, and yummy coffee. 😋
Update: Sept 2023. I would recommend this location presently. Even though they are understaffed, this location has hired better staff to serve the public. I'm satisfied with the overall customer service...
