Consistency is key for the success of this franchise burger joint. An iconic CA staple, In-N-Out continues to do what they've been doing since they opened, serving up good burgers, fries, and drinks, for fairly reasonable prices. This location utilizes multiple approach lanes with mobile order taking attendants. This helps manage the traffic during big rushes.
They will walk up to your window wearing a mask and take your order, then direct you to your place in line. Since waiting in line is part of the experience, you can expect to spend about 10 to 15 minutes staring at the brake lights of the car in front of you before you hit the first window and have to interact with humans again.
You must hand them some type of acceptable currency in order to get the food, if you are too stoned to understand whats being said to you, just pull out a credit or debit card with some money on it, and hold it out towards the scary person in the window. They will take it from you, then return it. Take your card and the receipt, they will attempt to repeat your order back to you, but you will most likely forget what you ordered between talking to the person at your car window and this one. Just smile and nod.
You will see the car in front of you drive around the corner, do not follow without your food. Stop when you see another scary person in another window. They will be saying things to you about food, just nod and if you're feeling brave say yes. They may ask if you are going to eat in the car, that's ok, don't freak out, they only ask that to know if you need paper sheets to put over the top of your pants so you can be a dirty slob and wolf down your food parked across from the only liquor store still open. If you say no, they just shove all your food into bags and hand them to you.
Do not immediately start eating, you have to drive around the corner and out of the parking lot so the evil monster the two palm trees are warding off doesn't swoop down to snap your neck like a chicken bone. Once a safe distance away, start reaching into the bags and eat a few fries from each fry tray. Not too many from any single one, so you dont accidentally end up skimping yourself on fries.
If you manage to survive a few visits, you unlock a secret menu. With secret stuff like "the flying Dutchman" or "animal style" that's when you have to go to the secret third window and fight monkeys for a boat made out of bananas. If anyone ask, I'll deny i told you any of this, it's a...
Read moreI Always order the same thing. The order cost went from 12$ and change, to 15$ change....figured, well inflation etc. Then a few weeks later same order cost me 16$ and change. At that point I decided well, I enjoy In n Out and would save the experience for a special occasion or when I was in a pinch. Anyway that price change was maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Last night, I was in a pinch and figured In n Out would be a good meal for the evening. I was more than surprised when they upped the previous increase in price to 17$ and change. Up another dollar in just a few weeks! Honestly I was not happy, but the real kicker was the quality of the product. The shake that i got was absolue garbage...full of foam, So bad I didn't even drink a quarter of it. The burger sloppy. I poured the unconsumed remainder of the shake into the sink, only to find in the morning I a big pile of unmelted goo and foam. What a big disappointment. The burger was sloppy, all kinds of spread stuck to the outside of the bun. I realize it was super busy, but still, should the consumer settle for a inferior experience because there was a large demand? New prices, new product, new experience? Wow, the new In n Out....not the same place, not the same...
Read moreThis is my go to In-n-out. It's close to my work in canoga park on topanga blvd. I like fresh burgers, but the love in making those burgers have gone away. No flavor, put together very sloppy, soggy buns, and cold fries. Employees through the drive through and self service are extremely accommodating and nice. I cannot say this is the best. 40 years ago the lankershim In-n-out were awesome and their 4 window lined still took forever but worth it. The Balboa, in and out was also great but, again, too many people lined down Balboa Blvd but still worth the wait. The other In-n-out is located on Ventura Blvd near desktop. Still the lines are long way down the blvd. My son always complained that he can hear me ducking up the juice every bite I took and I told him I didn't want any juices to drop out of my mouth. What happened to the quality and flavor. I know. The economy. Since the price of living has gone up, and businesses no longer offer a cost of living increase in their salaries. In-n-out is still trying to stay in business and giving our young adults work experience and providing fresh made food. Unfortunately the quality had to be compromised. In-n-out will always be my go to burger...
