Wonderful, delicious and delightful!

RING Baked Tofu Donuts is a small shop tucked in the first floor of an office building in the corner of Owensmouth Ave and Vanowen St. They apparently were established back in 2013 in Hollywood, but this is their brick and mortar location.

RING as their full name says, makes baked tofu donuts. They offer a wonderful variety of flavors including regular features like: Green Tea, Rose, Earl Grey, Honey and Red Velvet. There are daily flavors as well such as Chocolate Chip and Banana.

Aside from donuts (which are available online for ordering and shipping) are a large selection of cold and hot beverages: French press coffee, coffee with sea salt cream, hot mocha, Matcha Green Tea, yuzu lemonade, Kangen water, Matcha lemonade and much more.

The premise according to the Japanese couple who own and run RING, is to bring Japanese products to the American market and make it fun and appealing. The result is delicious 😋 the donuts being baked and tofu are relatively healthy...the drinks are quenching.

Service is very friendly and polite. Prices...

I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at RING Baked Tofu Donuts on our interview date.

I LOVE donuts and it’s been a hell to find a healthy and tasty donuts since I developed gluten intolerance.

I tried Red Velvet (oh, aroma of chocolate!), double chocolate (not too sweet) and Honey (reminded me of Japanese sweet Kastella a lot) I don’t like Tofu, but I loved them all. It is not dry or overly chewy like other Gluten Free donuts, cookies or cakes.

Also they are baked. So you don’t get a heartburn.

If you are coming here at night, it may be hard to find since it’s in the office complex. But just look for the address. And park in the back parking lot just North of the building and enter from rear.

I am going to check this place periodically to get some...

I had business in the building so I decided to stop in and try a tofu donut. The shop is cozy and small with a few tables, nestled in the lobby of an office building. The service is great; I had a lot of questions for the employee about the drinks and what was the best one to try. He recommended the classic honey flavor donut and warmed it up for me. It was definitely different than a regular donut in consistency, but still really delicious. The donuts are more dense and spongier than a normal donut. I also had a calpico which has a slightly sweet flavor. There's free two hour parking in the lot next to the building. If I find myself in Canoga Park again I'll make sure to stop back in!

Tasty offerings. I was apprehensive at first when my niece absolutely insisted we visit. I should listen to her more often. The shop is small, but clean. While it includes some cute merch and a fun area to draw, the shop is a very small area and more suited for take-away orders. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of the donuts. They are lightly sweet and carry a cakelike texture...and easy to scarf down with a coffee or tea. Stop by and enjoy a treat...bonus...they are affordable!
