Jone500 Spicy Thai Food — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Sadly this was a no for me. Went out on a limb to try a new place and it did not deliver. The panang curry was flavorful but all it had was tofu and red peppers, at least throw in some peas or something else. Also, all tofu should be fried. Or at least give the option. The pad Thai was also pretty good flavor and texture wise however the shrimp were of poor quality. The sauteed eggplant and basil was really bad. The flavor was off and the eggplant was both greasy and not fully cooked - not to mention the sauce it sat in was 90% oil. Lastly the papaya salad. This was pretty much inedible. The veggies had an old sat in the refrigerator too long taste and the dressing was not doing anything to help. Overall, two flawed dishes and two trash dishes. Portions were pretty good for the price though I would not say this is a cheap place. My wife grabbed the food and she said the place was very bare bones which is fine but she also said it didn't even smell of food inside....which is strange. Anyway, we will...

I recently visited a new Thai restaurant in my neighborhood that just opened a week ago, and I was thrilled with the experience. The interior of the restaurant has a welcoming and pleasant ambiance that makes you feel right at home.

I tried the Crying Tiger, which was exceptionally tender and came with a unique and delicious dipping sauce known as Jaew. The Flaming Drunken Noodles with shrimp were bursting with flavor and just the right amount of heat. The Tom Yum seafood soup was hot, spicy, and full of generous portions of seafood.

The prices were very reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. I’m already planning to bring my family back to enjoy this wonderful new spot. Highly...

Jone500 Spicy is a really cool hole-in-the- wall Thai food spot that gets the job done. It ain't fancy, but the food is good and they are open late. Too many places close early in LA and this place is open to 11! Every time we go, we order the green curry. The food is spicy and delicious every time. The noodles have good flavor and they offer a variety. This is a great place to walk to and pick up some food on a late night. Also, it's father and son run. They are friendly and helpful with the menu....
