El Sereno GreenGrocer — Local services in Los Angeles

I was visiting the area and stopped by this little shop and was so impressed by how much they packed into their beautiful space. I love that they have so many locally sourced/made items! We grabbed some fruit and veggies for dinner with their $7 produce basket deal (such a steal!). My little ones each picked out a treat - a gluten free/dairy free cookie and a Nutella snack pack. It’s so nice to be able to grab unique local goodies as well as familiar brands. I picked out a locally made pineapple mango salsa and some locally made chips - both were delicious and great value! They also had some prepared meals, frozen foods, locally made desserts, kombucha, eggs, bread, cheese, lots of snack items, spices, and so much more!

I really like visiting El Sereno Greengrocer and I encourage others to support the business. The two women who run it, Erika and Patricia, are very friendly and welcoming, and so are their staff. They are locals and so your money stays in the community when you shop here. It does so in more ways than one--they try to stock the store with products from local producers, too. ESGG is a place where you can get farm-fresh produce outside the somewhat limited hours of farmers' markets. I acknowledge that things here are sometimes more expensive than at big grocery chains. This may not be somewhere where you do all your grocery shopping. But I think there is a lot of value in allocating at least some of the dollars you spend towards mission-driven, community...

Awesome neighborhood grocery store!!! They bring in fresh produce from the farmer's marts, have fresh bread delivered on Wednesdays & different baked goods every day. I always discover some new instagram baker because they source from local vendors. I go weekly to pick up a baked treat. They stock an assortment of ethnic sauces/condiments & frozen foods that make getting a meal on the table for the fam on a weeknight a breeze.
