Juice Crafters — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I had high hopes for a new Acai Bowl place here in the Marina. I'd become a bit of an Acai addict since having my first last year, and I've tried bowls from Santa Barbara to Hawaii.

I had the Acai Protein Bowl from Juice Crafters, and it was a huge disappointment. Let's start with the texture. An Acai Bowl should have a consistency that's thicker than a smoothie, and more like a soft-serve ice cream. The bowl I had was thinner than a smoothie, more like Acai soup. As for the ingredients, it's hard to look past the giant "glop" of almond butter. The pieces of almonds and walnuts are also way too big, and should be diced. In some bites the nuts were so large, I was afraid that I was biting down on a shell. The banana slices were all over the place. Some were thin & edible, others were a huge mouthful.

As for pricing, there isn't any!! Only after you place an order do you discover that your Acai Bowl is over $13!! And here I thought the $10 Acai Bowls at Earthbar in Equinox were over-priced. Now they look like a bargain, and the quality is so much better. Even the Acai Bowls at Jamba Juice are better in my opinion, and a much better value...

I wanted to like this place. I ordered the protein acai bowl. There's no pricing on their menu but I figured it should be about the same price as other places. Well, I assumed wrong. It's the most expensive acai bowl I've had. It's $13.45 for each bowl. The bowl was okay, not the best I've had. I wish it was less sweet and was blended thicker. The almond butter is not blended in so it was hard to eat because of the cold acai.

The store is small. There's no waiting area so call ahead. There were people waiting to order and pickup. The staff were all busy making orders. No one was at the counter to help people walking in. Some customers walked out...

We just love Juice Crafters. It is a chain and this one is our favorite. Now, this is not an inexpensive place, but it is well worth it.

I prefer plain orange juice. They have it and it is the best. My grandson loves their smoothies, he likes the strawberry ones and I can't get him to try a different one. He is always so happy when I pull the car in there. Parking is not a problem.

Their bowls are super. I love all the coconut you can have put on them, you can have whatever you want in a bowl. The staff is very helpful.
