I booked the room, checked in early at 12:30pm during a rain storm and when I went to my room the floors were soaked because the rain was just coming almost unimpeded through a leak in the roof. They had some towels in the ground to soak up the water. My wife was in a hospital near by and at 1:30pm they let us know that she had a good chance of getting out that day. We are from the Boston area and we were only booking the room because the hotel we were in was fully booked for the next day and because my wife was in the hospital we were going to miss out flight and have to stay another day. So upon hearing the news that we would most likely be able to catch our flight I went to cancel the room at 3:15pm. When I explained my situation and asked if I could not be charged for the room the manager very rudely told me that he won't refund me, to which I simply said fine but I am going to check out. As I walked away to go get my bags the guy came out from around the desk and told me it didn't make any sense to cancel the room because I already paid for it so they weren't going to cancel the room. So I told them that I wasn't going to argue with them about it and reaffirmed that I was checking out and leaving, at that point the guy (guy=manager) put his hands in the air and mutters under his breath as he walks away. All that being said the building is a dump in desperate need of updating, it has a decent location but there are places in the same area that are much...
Read moreI am still trying to understand how this hotel gets good reviews. We had a terrible experience that is still unresolved. We booked our stay for two nights and checked in. The room had the feel of not having had the comforter or the carpet cleaned in the last 10 years. The first thing I did is pull the comforter down so I wouldn't have to sit on it. We noticed quite a bit of dirt but decided to stay. We went for a short walk and came back to the room. After a second look, we decided to find another hotel. We took pictures of the dirt - the mold on the shower and window sill, dirty grout on the bathroom floor, crackers in the air conditioning control panel, hairballs and spiderwebs on the stairs, filthy plugs, etc. and showed them to the man at the front desk. He sent a maintenance man to the room to prove the pictures were from the actual room. The man was rude and deeply offended when we showed him the dirt. When we returned, the man at the front desk told us that clearly we had checked in, "used" the room, and were now trying to rip him off. We agreed to pay for the first night. We were told to contact the manager the next day for a refund for the second night. After many calls and messages, we still have yet to receive a refund. We are now disputing it with our credit card. What...
Read moreThe late night male(caucasian) receptionist was very welcoming/polite. The room was clean and all, but our room smelled like cigarette/marijuana and t.v. didn't work. I specifically booked a non-smoking room. We arrived at 11:30pm and we were very tired to deal with it, so we tried to air out the room as much as we could. Next day, I called about the tv, and the female(hispanic) a.m. receptionist, was extremely rude and as a matter of fact attitude. She called us till 3:30pm and moved us to another room. When she came up, she noticed the smell and questioned me is an accusatory manner. I was appalled, but I still explained how we found the room, like this. About 20min passed she calls our room and begins to threaten me on how "it better not smell like that or she'll fine me $250.00". I said you do not need to say, it better and she immediately retracted and said I'm sorry Ididn't mean to be rude. To top it off the next day, the fire alarm went off at 7:30am. for about 10min. Then it stopped, and about 5min later, again. No one bothered to call us and let us know, everything is ok, we're sorry about that, nothing. The experience was very unpleasant to say the least. Front desk didn't even offer to remedy the situation. The lack of...
