This is an Edited review. Went back to this King Taco place on Cesar Chavez in ELA today. The food was great. I didn't feel much like a heavy meal, you know with meat and all...so I ordered a Bean and Cheese Burrito. They give you a choice of Frejoles dela hoya, (which means ,whole beans) or machucadas, ( which means smashed beans.) They do not have it anywhere on their menu. I guess it's one of those items you just need to ask for? My lady had a Tamale. She asked for a red chili pork Tamale, although she got a green chili cheese one...she was still happy. T. This is a edited review. With respect, Chuy Vara Viramontes signing out for now from SG / Temple City area Visiting Daniel my Grandson. Buenas Noches

Cleaner than it has been in the past. Food as good as ever. The red sauce is the spicy and [best] one.

King Taco is a legendary establishment in the Boyle Heights neighborhood. I've visited here twice, both during covid times, and everything seemed pretty safe. You order at their indoor location, and take the food to eat outside at their benches. The first time I visited, I tried the carne asada quesadilla and it was delicious. The second time, I came with beautiful company, after getting lattes across the street at Weird Wave coffee brewers. I believe I ordered the al pastor burrito, and she ordered a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco. They packed both generously, and we were plenty full. Would strongly recommend this place, and really enjoyed their red & green salsas!

I came to this king taco location just after 8pm on 7/24/2025. I was being helped by Amellali. I placed my order and after my order i asked if i can purchase an atole , she looked back and then looks at me and said there was none. After paying i decided i would get back in line to buy a drink. I was then greeted by another lady (very nice ) and asked me for my rewards number i asked if i can add my receipt for the food to my rewards because i forgot to tell amellali and she never asked me either but the lady said it was too late. I said okay and asked her again if there was any atole which she quickly responded yes . I didn’t say anything to her but i was shocked that i was denied something they had . After i paid i was waiting for my change and amellali who took my food order calls my number out loud followed by a gentlemen on the speaker . I rush over while still waiting for my change and confirmed my order, i then saw the lady with my change for the drink so i left amellali prepping my order . As i rushed to pick up my drink amellali yells out to me in front of everyone “senora de los burritos “ instead of calling my number and she and her partner next to her which was the gentleman that helped her say my number earlier on the speaker immediately start laughing at me. Completely rude and disrespectful especially to do that to a customer who treated you with respect ! I get to her and said i was getting my drink and they are both trying to keep in their laughter. I unfortunately had to go back after because i forgot my drink there and she was just looking at me sideways smirking. She then turns around and was playing around with her same partner that were making fun of me and she tells him behind the counter “ay no mames“ very unprofessional. I later arrived home to try and eat one or my burritos had unions and cilantro when i asked everything on the side because my husband doesn’t like unions , my sope also had more beans then al pastor meat. This was so uncalled for. This is bad for business i hope you can agree . These people should not be working with customer and i will not be taking the high road next time. this is not the first incident with this locations employees being disrespectful . I also called in the last time and spoke to someone and never heard back about a follow up. I have been coming to this location since i was little, i stopped coming for a while because of the last incident and now this ! So if your company decides not to discipline and i come across this disrespectful employee her and i will have problems. I have no reason no let anyone treat me this way. I called your corporate office and was told by the receptionist you do not do complaints by phone so i emailed corporate and received and apology and was told they will look into this. AMELLALI YOU AND YOUR LITTLE PARTNER SHOULD NOT BE WORKING...

The food was mid, I was really hungry because I didn't get breakfast that morning, and this was the closest restaurant I could find on such short notice. There were a ton of parking spaces, and I realized when I got out of the car, the rank smell of piss. It was horrible. I still went inside the restaurant, however. I will point out that the place was clean, and the service was good, but the food was not to my liking, I got an asada burrito with everything and an Agua Fresca, (hibiscus) When I took the first bite of the burrito, I realized the asada was burnt. Mom got three asada tacos, and they were burnt too, just not as much as mine. Dad got a cabeza burrito, and the taste was alright. The Agua Fresca was watered down a lot, and the masa for the sopes was hard to bite into. Overall, I won't come back here. It took away my hunger, but I feel like it was wasted money on my part. Especially since I like to spend money on good food. My advice to the reader is not to...

The downfall of King Taco was when upper management decided it was OK to prep and pre-cook their proteins at one location, before sending them to all the King Taco locations for a re- heat. This formula has worked for most fast food establishments since the advent of the burger, but fails in this attempt. I'm not sure if its their approach, or the simple fact that customers expect that fantastically freshly cooked meat taste typically associated with road-side tacos. Due to these changes, I recently switched from tacos to tamales...as they were probably always made in one central location before being shipped to all the restaurants, and they were really good. But today I bought 2 chicken tamales that were dry. Whats up with that? Not enough turnover due to covid 19, or what? Old tamales at King Taco? I'm...
