Wok on Soto — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I was in East Los Angeles and I saw this Chinese food place next to the clinic I use to go too. My husband actually spotted it before me and said he wanted to try it out.He is in love with Chinese food so I decided to give this new place a try.

They don't have a parking lot and right in front of them the sidewalk is painted red. There was parking in front of the clinic for one hour which was next to this restaurant.

We walked inside and it is a small little place, but they have several tables. The middle is a hallway and tables are located on the right and left side.

I imagined an ordinary Chinese fast food restaurant. First of all, they don't have the food counter were you pick everything you want on your plate. This place is different because the menu is on the wall with pictures.

At the front they do have a small counter, but just for the cashier. You pick a "combo" which is basically picking the main dish (orange chicken, teriyaki, broccoli beef) with rice and chow mien.

The man at the counter was nice. He gave us time to choose our combo and was very patient with us. He took our order and went to the back. Then a lady came and charged us. For two combos and two drinks it came out to be $14.

I don't remember what number I chose, but I got the shrimp with lobster sauce. I wanted to try something I had never tried. I love shrimp, but I have never had some with lobster sauce.

It was okay. It had about 5 shrimps with a lot of sauce and onions. I ended up leaving a lot of it behind and just eating the shrimp. They gave me a lot of rice and chow mien. On the picture the combo only shows rice, but when I asked for a side of chow mien the cashier said it came with it already.

My husband got a plate with chicken and veggies with rice and chow mien. It was about the same. It had a lot of veggies and minimum amount of chicken. He ate all the chicken and left some veggies behind. The chicken was good, but like I said it...

I've been getting food from this place for around 2 years every time I paid around$50, I think the food is better than other Chinese restaurants, until today's date when I found in my orange chicken plate a disgusting cacaroach I couldn't believe it!!, was like a bad dream the worse experience, I feel so despointed because I really liked this food, we the consumers never know what we eat from restaurant until we found the proof.🤮 They should be more careful what they serve, if they have those disgusting bugs they should do something about it because they might be losing customers if they're not clean, I will never never in my life going back to this place I don't recommend this place unless you don't mind eating food that taste good with cacaroaches...

Ordered Combo fried rice no beef extra chicken, extra shrimp, extra eggs on top.. I really love their food its so good.. But tonight my driver missed out on his $10 tip because I expected my regular weekend driver.. I still tipped $4 for a $15 order because he asked me to meet him downstairs.. SMH my regular driver that I have had for the past 2yrs+ always comes to the door to check on my baby because she answers the door.. Over all these are my go too guys when I dont feel like cooking because I'm a chef but they dont no it.. ...
