What a rip-off! I ordered the pescado asado, which was a small piece of swordfish with a dismal salad and terrible rice, and the way they served me was a huge disappointment...
The bloodline was still on the fish! The bloodline is not edible and as it was small, and for $17.95, it was hardly anything to eat! And the so-called salad that was included, was basically two pieces of iceberg lettuce with ONE slice of tomato.
My son had the beef flautas, and at first, they seemed huge but as he ate them, they were dry and the "little bit of" beef it had, was only in the openings at the top and at the bottom.
My husband had the carne asada plate and he was ok with the steak, but the rest of his plate was not good... He had the chile relleno and the chile itself was a bit on the bitter side??
The rice was not great, it was 'off' in taste, and the pinto beans were from cannned beans and not fresh tasting, with way too much cheese over it, (where were the beans???)...
I complained to the waitress about my swordfish plate, and I saw her talk to the manager, who was younger than her, and he seemed unconcerned and careless, and he didn't even bother to apologize about the swordfish, which was the only thing I complained about to her...
It really wasn't her fault, but the idiotic manager on duty, in his immaturity should at least have approached us. I guess he figured his restaurant was top quality, and we were too insignificant to acknowledge.
Bottom-line: The food is not quality, you might get quantity but not great authentic food. Don't waste your money here, instead go to a true Mexican food place in Reseda... Las Fuentes... Now that's good food! And not expensive and super-authentic!
I don't understand why or how people gave this location any good reviews! I honestly went by the reviews and I was extremely disappointed at the end... Maybe most of them go there for quantity, and for sure you will get that... But ask yourself, why stuff yourself with high fat, low quality? I would rather have smaller portions and with quality!
So think about it...
Read moreOct. We went back with a friend bragging about the Carne Adobada and how tasty it was, so all of us ordered that meal. Unfortunately, two came out way over cooked but mine was excellent again. I guess there was an issue with the other two being over cooked. I know the other two won't order that again, I might try again but mine, all three have been so good! I know you must make sure to thoroughly cook pork but there are ways without drying it out, especially when they're thin.
Sept. 1st: We went there a few weeks ago, I had the grilled pork steak, my girlfriend had the Chile relleno. Both of ours were really good!! It was the best pork steak I've had! Of course we had the picket l pitcher of margaritas too! My girlfriend and I have been here four times now and tonight we were disappointed. The service was excellent as always, Nellie is on top of things and we never have an empty margarita or salsa cup! We have ordered the same entree every time probably because they are so good but we are afraid of going home disappointed of the dinner we should've ordered!! I get the shrimp enchilada and my girlfriend gets a combination plate, the same every time. My shrimp were always crisp, crunchy and flavorful, they had a grilled flavor that came through the sauce and spices. Tonight was a different story, my shrimp were mushy and flavorless while her food had a crust on it from being under the heater too long. Even the margaritas were different, definitely not a potent as normal. This was a 5 star place till now. We will try again, maybe a new dish.
Ok, we went back this Sunday with some friends and though I did not order the shrimp enchiladas, my lunch was very good. Tried the Beef flautas and they were huge, very tasty. I had the remainder for dinner that night. My girlfriend had the Arroz con Camarones and her shrimp were perfect as well as her sister's shrimp fajitas! ...
Read moreAs a healthcare worker, I take the CDC guidelines very seriously and this is the first time, we as a family went out since the pandemic started. We had all our groceries delivered and limited to going out ONLY for work. Since the regulations have lifted and our positivity rate has gone down to 2.4% we decided to go celebrate my sisters 15th birthday. We called ahead of time to ask what their regulations were, we specifically told them we are a party of 7 who live in the same household. They said since we were a big party we could sit together but we had to sit outdoor. Once we got there we sat outside we realized it was very cold, even with the sweaters we had on, so we asked them to turn on the heater they had for the outside. (It didn’t help at all) They said they turned it on but it wasn’t until we were leaving (45mins later) that they realized it was out of gas. We waited a long time for the food and the drinks took long to be refilled even when we asked multiple times. And if that wasn’t bad enough to our surprise a staff member came to pull our tables apart because “cdc guidelines mandate that we can only sit parties of 6 on the outdoor eating area” ironically enough they only pulled our tables apart by 3 feet. Also the other tables were not spaced 6” apart which has been the main rule from CDC. In any case the food was over cooked, the rice was hard, the beans were congealed, and the margaritas we ordered were extremely watery and bland. I still left a 15% tip because it’s not the servers fault that the management has failed them. They needs to rethink their game plan. Unfortunately, this is a hard pass for me I will not return and I will definitely not recommend this place .
Sincerely, Party of 7 from the...
