I NEVER take the time to write reviews, but I just had to. DOES THIS PLC HAVE NW OWNERS???? New chef? I used to look forward to their yummy food and friendly service (pre pandemic), BUT I literally had the worst dining experience ever last night. When we walked in and sat ourselves, We were rudely informed that there was no table service like we were idiots and that we needed to order and pay at the counter (new), Ok, no biggie, ordered, paid cash including a generous tip. My plate came in a decent amount of time, but they completely forgot to bring my date’s meal, for over an hour, even though we asked twice.NEVER showed up so( no apologies) Good thing we ordered the fries and a bottle of Cabernet, yes? NOOOO!! The wine tasted like rancid vinegar!!! We weren’t expecting much for $35 , but not swill!
My plate, Chicken shawarma, was ample but inedible!!! Beyond salty!!! It came with average hummus, but the overworked, airhead “server “said they were OUT of pita bread!!! (that we paid for.. and btw, it was later delivered to our table by someone else) After never receiving my dates meal I insisted we get a refund. We were then given a paper receipt with a credit amount…. Fine, but we paid CASH!!!! What did they credit??? When I told them they asked us if we actually wanted our cash back like WE were the problem. ??? And forget any apologies… for anything.
I did notice that there were empty tables( never before)but their (“ free delivery “) take out business was crazy busy, chaotic and disruptive to any decent ambience for the diners. I think this is why the “ dine-in” service was so bad.
Long story short, we managed to finish 1/2 the bottle of wine and the mediocre cumin fries, due to the wait. (The rest we trashed. $100 mistake. NEVER again.)
My date, still hungry from never getting his dinner, inquired about dessert (they should have offered it as an apology) but airhead said they had none. Seriously? I think she just wanted us to leave as much as I did.
BTW- In case you might be thinking the we were the problem, I just want to add that we couldn’t have been more easy going, patient and respectful. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE THAN BEFORE. I was embarrassed that I chose it for...
Read more4.5 stars - delicious sharable plates yet small portions for price. Identity of the food seems to be a pan-middle Eastern mix of Israeli, Moroccan, Turkish, and etc. dishes. All the dishes were enhanced by sauces and fresh herbs that was paired with the plates. Hummus masabacha was great because it was served with fresh laffa bread. The Jerusalem chopped salad was very simple and lacked distinctive flavor beyond the cucumber and tomato. Albeit small portions, the lamb Kefta kebab and spicy Merguez sausage were delicious and served with fresh dill and cilantro (be aware I believe the sausage has cayenne pepper that added a kick). Vegetable couscous was tasty in a tomato base served with eggplant and red bell peppers. The skillet haloumi was flambé tableside with brandy and was fun to watch (plus fried cheese is always a crowd pleaser). The restaurant automatically adds a 14% service gratuity in the bill. Service was friendly yet at times slow. Parking lot in the back charges $1 an hour at metered spaces (credit...
Read moreThis is great little casual dinner spot that recently opened. Decor is cute and simple. While the restaurant is mostly Mediterranean, it definitely did seemed a bit more fusion-y (i know that's not really a word). Dishes seemed made for sharing with really cute bowls. Portions were not huge but just right for a nice meal out.
We ordered some appetizers (hummus, beets & avocado, yogurt, and greek salad). All were pretty spectacular with the fresh baked bread that kept on getting refilled. My favorite was the yogurt - loved the chopped olives that were in the dish. For our mains, we tired the ravioli (which did not seem that mediterranean to me) and some kebabs. The skirt steak kabob def tasted like korean bbq.
Service was good. You def could feel that this was a small family owned business with much love and care put into the restaurant. Some of the servers did seem a bit fresh and confused but I guess that's too be expected when the...
