I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Moby's Coffee & Tea on our interview date, in which they so kindly allowed us to film completely on a whim.

Moby’s Coffee & Tea is a quirky, hidden gem in an off the beaten path strip mall. Even though it’s not located directly in the illustrious NOHO Arts District, you will still get your fill of funky, colorful (presumably local) artwork and a menu mixed with classic and kookily named specialty coffees. Cute bistro tables line the outside while worn in, vintage-y type leather couches inside give you the perfect shop where you can play a board game for two in the warm sun or hole up all day with a good book and Cup of Joe.

A blended coffee drink called the Shiny Squirrel is a must try when you’re blindingly choosing a beverage purely based on its name. It’s thick, it’s sweet, it’s pretty much a sugar rush in a glass (well, in this case Mason jar). However, don’t let your cup of whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, cookie bits, and who knows what else intimidate you. It still very much tastes like coffee, just a sugar-coated (pun intended) gimmicky version that tastes waaay better than the regrettable sugar overload PR stunts Starbucks will offer you. shudders at the thought of trying the Unicorn...

I moved just a 5 minute walk from Moby’s almost 3 years ago, and ever since the first time I walked in I’ve loved it. They’re genuine, not some Starbucks-y corporate mold. The people are genuine, the drinks are great, the food is great, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, it’s just wonderful. Jen, the owner, is so caring — she has stopped working and sat down with me just to hear me vent if it’s clear I’m having a hard day. The baristas are wonderful too — one time, when I was pregnant, I was so tired and so sick, and I wanted a coffee but was struggling and didn’t realize I had no money. The barista paid for it. They’ve also let me advertise my book for Foster Care Awareness Month, and are dog friendly — my dog LIVES for the pets and pup cups. She literally tries to drag me down the street to Moby’s when she’s done at the dog park. All in all, Moby’s is a must...

Moby's Coffee and Tea....? What can I say that people don't already know? Moby's is a small business owned and operated by the sweetest lady. She employes more people than she needs. That says all you should really need to know about Moby's. The shop is super clean (# more employee's than needed), the coffee and tea are of the finest quality, ALL ORGANIC. No preservatives, no chemical additives, just what the mother earth provided. The way she provided it. It's the atmosphere that got Moby's the Fifth Star. Which is the people and they're contagious joyfulness. Trust me folks no easy task in this day and age. Seems like I say the same things over and over, I can't help it though. The people in this North Hollywood community are the best. tight nit , helpful,...

I went here on a Saturday afternoon. There space is very nice with tables, a counter area and couches as options for patrons to sit. They did not have done it the items that were listed on the Postmates menu available to order at the store. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere; it wasn't busy when I arrived, but more people arrived as I was leaving, right before they closed around 2:30pm. The mocha was a touch too sweet and the cheddar cheese waffle was a touch too salty, but I'd go back to try different items.

Unpretentious coffee shop with a strong local following and good coffee. The staff are all kind and helpful and it’s always an enjoyable experience to go. Lots of comfortable well-loved chairs and a bar area to plug in and do some work. You can also grab a number of breakfast items including pastries, empanadas, and waffles. Great Burbank haunt, just be aware, their bathroom is at the other end of the strip mall and shared with other stores if you’re looking to hunker down for the afternoon. Enjoy!
