Originally opened in 2008 Niko Niko Sushi sits on the northern side of the Palms District near Mid City LA. I live a bit west of this location and I’ve passed it countless times over the years but this past weekend my friends and I were looking for a great local spot and Niko Niko popped up on our must visit list. A few of us who are from LA have already been here, but it was a new spot to the others in our group. As many of the reviews mentioned the service here is very friendly and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Pricing is what is to be expected for a sushi restaurant, there are definitely a lot cheaper places, but also a lot more expensive places. You will have to pay a lot more for Omakase at one of the older sushi restaurants in LA which is known as a sushi city. I think Niko Niko is a great balance between casual and premium and we all had a great experience. They have a free parking lot attached to the tiny shopping center that it’s located in so parking won’t really be an issue ever. For our visit we ordered a mix of items, which is common for all of our sushi visits. We started off with a series of nigiri, my favorite being albacore and sweet shrimp which they had both. Next came a few different hand rolls and we especially enjoyed the blue crab hand roll special , which was filled with delicious real crab. Lastly, we got a few different special rolls for the table and each one was a real hit. The portion size was very generous and honestly all of the items were very good. Our bill came out to be about $175 for four people without alcohol so it definitely could’ve been cheaper, but also could’ve been way more expensive, just depends on what you are used to. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sushi spot, especially if you’re looking for a casual spot that also has premium ingredients.

When to Niko Niko for dinner with some of the family, they frequent this location and I will be as well in the future. We were greeted and seated quickly, it is spacious and welcoming although when we were leaving it was busy and people were having a wait. The sushi was fresh and presented nicely, the salmon skin salad is large enough for two, it’s so good I kept it all to myself. If you enjoy wasabi you’ll love it here, wow what a kick I got a couple times. The staff is very friendly, being we were there a bit early for the crowd they may have been to accommodating, checking n us every few minutes. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a great sushi spot this one won’t disappoint!

The restaurant space is clean and had enough tables for a fair amount of diners. Service was fast, friendly and efficient despite having only one server during our visit. Everything tasted great from the soft shelled crab tempura, nigiri, to the rolls. The seafood is fresh, you can tell by the color and the texture. I say overall excellent value for your money. I am glad it's they're not too far from my place. Fresh smelling hand sanitizer with moisturizer placed on each occupied table. Parking doesn't seem to be bad. I couldn't really tell because we just walked going to Niko Niko. Will come back! 👍🏽

This is a nice little sushi restaurant that I've always wanted to try.

When my daughter told me that she wanted sushi for dinner I did a search and Niko Niko came up. I ordered a bunch of ikura (7 orders) and other assorted sushi ( chirashi, spider roll, tamago and unagi) as well as a teriyaki chicken dinner. This was all take out of course and everything was ready in about 25 minutes.

The sushi was decent and the price was what you'd expect. Not the freshest sushi but definitely hit the spot. My daughter and son inhaled the ikura. The chirashi has a good amount of fish but the rice portion was a bit small. The chicken teriyaki was over cooked and a bit dry. Flavor for the chicken was not the best and I would recommend sticking with the sushi.

The staff there was very friendly and made me feel welcome. That was memorable enough for me in this day of take out, masks, social distancing and Covid. I will definitely be going back there for more and look forward to having a sit...

First off let me say for the most part service was great, there was an older lady with glasses who me give 1 less star. I think she just wanted to go home cuz I was enjoying my beer and told my server that I will pay once I am done, but the older lady was like pay now. So I had to get up and go the front to use my apple pay. They were closing soon, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt but there were others who were still seated eating. Atmosphere was friendly, greeted by the chefs and greeter, my only wish isit was more dim lit. Food was an A+ and huge portions for the price, I had a whole meal for one day and ordered a bento. I wish they did Door dash or sole other food delivery but they do take pick up orders. Overall pleasant experience and good food with a chilled beer glass 🍺 …def...
