Iāve gone back and forth about writing this, but I think I have to.
We were so excited to have a Peetās open in our neighborhood, having been fans of Intelligentsia Coffee for several years and decidedly not fans of Starbucks, lol. The first manager, George, was awesome - he donated our first big order of Joeās-to-go boxes of hot coffee and all the accoutrements last summer and was always warm and helpful when Iād come into the store. I want to say weāve done 4 or 5 big orders over the last school year, always to our teachersā and staffās delight and and appreciation. This location was also a sponsor of our signature fundraiser event, so we had the Peetās logo on our t-shirts, signs, and social media. Melanie, Valerie, and Emma were also great and I want to thank them again for all their help.
However, the last 2 orders have prompted me to write this review. Our order in June was for our schoolās 5th grade culmination refreshments and yesterdayās order was for our annual Welcome Back Breakfast for both faculty/staff and new families. Despite ordering AND paying a week in advance AND calling to confirm the day before, NEITHER order was ready to pick up at the designated time. Each time, I barely made back to school before each event began. Not a good look or a pleasant experience for me or for the wonderful parents and families and teachers at school.
Not only does this affect other customersā orders, it throws off all the timing behind the counter and undoubtedly stresses out the baristas. For that, I apologize, as I know itās a big order with lots of moving parts. Thatās why I pay ahead and confirm. If filling such large orders causes too much trouble, then they shouldnāt be accepted in the first place. Iād prefer a āno, Iām sorry we canāt do thatā versus an āOh, we dropped the ball and didnāt know, so itās not readyā or āWhat order?!ā I couldāve ordered at one of the 4 Starbucks in the area as we used to in the past, but I didnāt because I wanted to support a new local business and give the faculty and staff something new. Sadly, going forward, weāll be taking our large $200+ orders of coffee travelers back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo been to other locations where the barista and cashiers are very friendly, nope not at the location. The guy who took our order was clueless. I asked questions and he actually got annoyed at me for asking because he didn't know the answer. My buddy asked if he could get his oatmeal with almond milk instead of water and his reply was ummm, I think. I asked if any of the pastries were vegan and he got flustered that I was talking to him while he tried entering almond milk on his kiosk, and then said the plantbased sandwiches I guess are vegan. I didn't want a sandwich. I was like what about the almond bar, is that vegan? and he literally was like ughhh, and finally asked another worker, who said I have no idea, then asked his manger who actually said yes 3 of the pastries are vegan. FINALLY!! Someone who had some basic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my wife here to try Peet's coffee because we were in the plaza eat at Silverlake Ramen. My wife loves chai latte so I checked their menu online and saw that they have it here so I figure she should try it. You should be able to find parking here but you might just have to walk a bit. We came in the afternoon so they weren't as busy. When we walked in, the worker told us where to line up and he was very energetic. My wife took a look at their menu and asked the worker about the chai Latte. She decided to get a small chai latte with no espresso and light ice. They made the drink quick and we took a seat at one of their booth. My wife said their chai latte tasted more like rice water which is similar to horchata. She likes it though so it was good that she tried it. There outdoor seating as well if you don't want...
