Philadelphia Steak & Hoagie — Restaurant in Los Angeles

My husband & I moved into this area about 16 months ago, during which we've often enjoyed Philly cheese steak [PCS] subs & their onion rings are always crisp & delish! Additions to the basic PCS sub create a variety of that sandwich; but they are a small group of choices on the menu. There are lots of subs/hoagies listed. Also, of course, theee are a number of sides & chips & drinks. The grill is right behind the counter so you see preparation of your order from ingredient taken from fridge, to items cooking, to putting it all together to take out or eat there. We both highly recommend this eatery for good food, cleanliness, very short time between order taken & order done in a friendly, simple, convenient location. You will meet the owner/operator when he takes your order; then you'll understand my using "genuine" when I state that he is a genuinely nice fellow. I used be a regular this place years ago when I lived in the area. I changed locations and hadn't visited in years. There was an older gentleman working the grill back then and my sandwiches were always so delicious. That's the reason I became a regular. Recently I was in the area and couldn't wait to stop by for a great steak hoagie. I'm not sure why the man wasn't at the grill but the older woman both took my order and grilled my sandwich. It was awful!! Nothing at all like before. I sat in the back and waited for my sandwich and didn't open it until I got to the car. To my surprise the steak was overcooked and looked more like chopped beef, there was a minimal amount of meat on the bun, and the taste was horrible. Order a philly but had no bell peppers, and the fries were not fully cooked and the price of this taste test was ridiculous $19.95! Which there were no prices posted for any of the meals, felt like they charged as they go depending on the appearance of the customer! Terrible customer service. did not greet me as I walked in , just starred "like what do u want". Will not be recommending this spot to ANYONE AND WILL NEVER RETURN.
