I have to be honest I've never even eaten at your restaurant I recently moved to Van Nuys 4 months ago from South Orange County I have to be honest I've never even eaten at your restaurant and I'm going to give you 5 stars just because I've never seen so many 5 stars in so many amazing, Cummins from previous and old customers. I've been out here for 4 months and I've only found one place so far that I can say has really good food and amazing fish tacos and I've been missing Orange County because I have several restaurants that I love and by the way that play some talking about is Tito's Tacos. But today on my way to my audition I'm going to stop by your Deli and try your food because my mouth is so watery I can't wait to try your guyses food and if it's as good as everyone is saying is and I have a hard time believing that they all are lying I will come back on and give you guys a comment for every single item that I try and read it until I get through your whole menu I signed a 12-month lease so I have another seven to eight months to get through your menu before I decide whether or not I'm going to stay or move back to Orange County. So my name is Ben beers and I can't wait to try your food and as for the guy that copy that Yelp and posted somebody else's review get a life had a job and trying to be honest for a change why would you even try and post something to ruin someone else's business but I think you'll have a hard time doing considering you're the only one with a bad review that wasn't even yours. I'll see you guys in about 30 minutes my audition is in North Hollywood at 4:40 well honey I'm gonna probably stop in around 3:30...
Read moreRoma Deli has been around since 1948, so they've naturally been on my list of places to try in my attempt to visit every LA eatery that's existed before 1990.
This was our second attempt to visit as they are for some reason closed Sundays... I guess they don't want your money THAT much, haha. Anyways... we were successful on our second attempt. The area isn't wonderful, so I wasn't sure how it would be. A lot of similar places wedged between collision centers and adult stores tend to not be to welcoming inside... but not Roma Deli! From the moment you enter you know this place is legit. It still has that old world vibe to it. It's pretty minimal... a large room with tables and two giant oversized painting resting against the wall... but it was very welcoming.
I ordered an Italian sub, which was fantastic (though I didn't see the "Fancy Italian" until later... next time) and my son ordered a ham and cheese that was also great. I knew they were a sandwich place, so I ordered fast (with no regrets) before seeing the entire menu... this place has everything! Pizzas! Steaks! Calzones! It's crazy! I'm glad I didn't see it or I would have spent a year trying to decided.
Apparently they also have a giant function room, but for some reason I totally missed it! I saw there was another room, but it looked as though it was closed so I didn't venture there.
There is parking and the staff was all very friendly. I will for sure be...
Read moreIf you’re a true pastrami lover, there’s no better spot than Roma Deli. I’ve driven all the way from Alhambra, CA just to get my hands on one of their authentic Pastrami Sandwiches—and let me tell you, it’s always worth the trip.
The moment you walk in, you can feel the old-school deli vibes—cozy, welcoming, and filled with the mouthwatering aroma of fresh meats and bread. But the star of the show? That Pastrami Sandwich.
Piled high with perfectly seasoned, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, each bite delivers that ideal balance of smoky, savory, and slightly peppery flavor. The bread is fresh and soft with just the right chew, and they don’t skimp on the meat. Whether you get it classic with mustard or loaded with extras like Swiss cheese or pickles, every variation hits the spot.
Roma Deli doesn’t just serve sandwiches—they serve experiences. This is the kind of place that reminds you what real deli food is supposed to taste like. Trust me, if you're ever in the area—or even if you're not—make the drive. There's no better pastrami sandwich around.
10/10. Highly...
