I don't really write reviews, but don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about Rodeway Inn & Suites. See attached if you don't want to read this - images are explanation enough for the 1 star rating. What I believe is that this hotel is a good option for a bed and shower. I think it may attract savvy travelers (like myself) and high-variable guests. Read below for more:
The only thing this place was lacking was bed bugs.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by an overworked front-desk. A nice person, informed, but you could tell, wary of the clientele that Rodeway attracts. She checked me in, despite requesting some "SRD Number" - still don't know what that is; she pivoted to requesting my license for ID verification.
I receive my key, go to my room, and am immediately welcomed to Hotel Hell. Maybe I've been watching too many travel shows, but I check the room out to understand my environment (bed bug checks, soaps, shampoos, etc.). The room had a couch that is asking to be put out of it's misery. Caked in white stains, cigarette burn holes (non-smoking hotel) - this room also had the residual smell of a house that had been smoked in - maybe not recently, but at some point. The walls had dried goo and smudges, graffiti, and the floor was visibly dirty. From experience, it's like when you mop a really bad mess, but do not take care to rinse the mop head once it starts looking dirty - or changing the water once black.
I moved to the bathroom to see a toilet bowl that had not been cleaned, and upon inspecting the towels, found suspect body hair tangled throughout them. Being provided only two bars of soap, I fortunately brought my own shampoo. The shower was a highlight. Newly retiled, great pressure and temperature, it was a retreat from my grimy stay.
I looked to lay on the bed shortly after, to find that, although the sheets were clean (on the part I'd be sleeping on), there is undissolved detergent powder all over the sleeping area. My pillows had disparate hairs on them (which I'm fine with being that the cases were clean). What this tells me is that their washer is not running at full capacity. If it is unable to remove body hair from towels, cases, sheets, etc. + not fully dissolve it's detergent, then what else it is it not washing?
With no other furniture than the couch, I was determined to stay on my bed. The night stands were dusty, the bedside lamp had cigarette burns on the base (as did the sink basin - at least I hope it was a cigarette burn) - and the TV stand was covered in dust. I went to turn on my TV to no avail. Finding the button on the bottom, I clicked it on to see a pop-up message that my remote was not registered to the TV. Not sure if it's a good thing, but the channel it was stuck on was running a marathon of Forensic Files, so I watched.
After some time, I went to go blow my nose and realized I wasn't left with a full roll of toilet paper. So, not wanting to be left stranded on the toilet later on, I went down to the front office.
The desk worker greeted me with "Why did you lie to me?"
Me: "What?"
Them: "You lied to me. You do not have a reservation here. You told me you had an SRD number."
Now dear reader, as you recall, you may remember I have no clue what an SRD number is. Long and short, the reception desk questioned my reservation, pivoting from saying I didn't have a reservation, to claiming that yesterday, April 17th, was in fact not April 17th and that my reservation was invalid. To going as far as requesting that I pay the reservation cost again, despite seeing that my "Already Paid" value was complete and my "Due at Check-In" value was $0.
They called their manager, confirmed my reservation, and then proceeded to demand that I move rooms.

Read moreIf I could rate this negative stars, I would! I got to the hotel and had to be buzzed into the lobby. It took a bit as the lock wasn't unlocking. There were tons of signs as well, making you see right off that bat that this isn't going to be a good hotel. They wanted a $20 cash deposit. That was really bizarre, especially now days when it's normally a deposit held on your credit card. I got the keys to my room and watched a guy trip going down the stairs as they are uneven. 1 step is a lot smaller than the rest. Then I got to my room and it was so dirty and things were broken. I immediately checked for bedbugs as this place was disgusting. There were no actual blankets and onky sheets. So I was cold all night. Also, the sheets didn't even fully cover the mattress. They also didn't seem the cleanest. The floor was sticky like something spilled on it and no one ever cleaned it up. There were stains all over the sink and toilet. The shower curtain rod was broke in half. They tried to fix it with tape at 1 point it looks like. The back of the remote for the TV was missing. When I went to take a shower there was only 1 small towel and a wash cloth. The towel didn't seem clean. I took a shower and the drained backed up immediately. It was absolutely disgusting! The tiles in the shower were cracked as well. The window in the shower had no curtainr/blinds. The window in the room had blinds but they were broken so I had to fix them to the best of my ability. The parking lot seemed unsafe so I had to bring everything from my car into my room. The door didn't stay closed unless I messed with the handle. The lock was loose. When I got up really early in the morning, there were several interesting people in the parking lot and I got lots of looks. 1 guy drove in the parking lot clearly looking for something. This was right after what appeared to be 2 prostitutes went into a room. I went to check out early and the desk guy was asleep. I think he lives at the hotel. He came out half asleep in his pj's. I told him I'm checking out now and will not be staying the next night. I asked him about getting the next night refunded, he told me I had to call for that. I at least got my $20 cash deposit back. I was scared at this motel and would never stay there again. It was one of the worst motel/hotels I've ever stayed at. There were also homeless sleeping right infront of it. Do...
Read moreThe floors and bathroom were visibly dirty. The tv remote in one room did not work and was missing in the other room. There was no fridge or ice bucket. There was 1 tube garbage can with no liner. We asked for help with the tv and were handed a new remote that was not programmed. We were told they couldnât help with programming. The blankets were very thin on the beds like having 2 sheets. We asked for another blanket because we were cold and were told the office didnât know if there were any available. When we arrived a homeless person was sitting in the steps with their shopping cart of belongings in a parking spot. The pillows were very small and only 2 on the bed. The door didnât latch without pushing it hard. The key card didnât work the second day and had to be reset. People honked at us while we waited for the office to check us in. The landing of the upstairs was clearly breaking at the top of the steps. The bed in the second room was to low quality that we could hear and feel the springs when we moved and our bodies hurt more after staying there than when...
