Thai Victory — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Swung by this little ol establishment with 3 others on a blistering Sunday afternoon and what a surprise Thai Victory was! I now understand why TV has received the voluminous amount of 5 stars. Coming from Thai Town, TV can really be ranked amongst the gr10s.

Inside - 4/5 Very cozy and intimate with only a handful of tables. Bunch of Thai decor around the restaurant. And of course a random TV and hanging Xbox hah.

Service - 5/5 This sm0l establishment is run by the nicest (I assume) couple. They checked on us often and offered recommendations for the different dishes (e.g., spice, rice vs noodles). They also gave us a couple Thai tea's on the house! Very refreshing during this heat wave.

Food - 5/5 Now I'll be honest with the non-lunch special value of at least ~$14-17 a plate, I was worried that we would not have enough food and/or they quality would not be great. Alas, I was gratefully mistaken. This day we got Chicken Pad Thai, fried Eggplant, Roasted Duck Basil and Garlic Basil Tofu. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients, wasn't overly cooked or oily and was filling. Much like I said above, TV could stand on it's own Thai Town. But, why compete with so many other restaurants when you can capitalize in NOHO? My personal favorite dish was the roasted duck. The duck was crispy and was on a bed of Chinese broccoli. All dishes were distinct, but complimentary. Also we had some Thai coffees and man did it wake us up (and also sent us to the bathroom hah).

My visit to Thai Victory in North Hollywood was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant not only lived up to its name but exceeded my expectations in terms of the quality of Thai cuisine they offer.

I started my meal with a bowl of coconut soup, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The broth was rich and flavorful, infused with the perfect balance of coconut milk, lemongrass, and aromatic Thai spices. It was a warm and comforting way to begin the dining experience.

For the main course, I tried their Pad Thai and Green Curry. The Pad Thai was a harmonious blend of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, with perfectly cooked noodles and a generous serving of succulent shrimp. The Green Curry had a delightful balance of spiciness and creaminess, with tender chunks of chicken and an array of fresh vegetables. The flavors were authentic and left me craving for more.

As a dessert lover, I couldn’t resist ordering their mango sticky rice. The presentation was as beautiful as it was delicious. The sweet, ripe mango was beautifully sliced and served alongside a mound of sticky rice drizzled with a sweet coconut sauce. It was a fantastic way to end the meal and left me with a satisfied and sweet taste lingering on my palate.

2019.04-09/1900: Decided to have my husband's birthday get together here because I remembered how delicious their Tom Kha Gai and Pad See Ew was and the awesome customer service from the family that owns this restaurant. Everything was just as expected and then some! The Angel Wings were crispy and succulent with a sweet dipping sauce. This is something that we don't see anywhere so we made sure from our last visit, to order them. We had the Sampler Platter appetizer! It came with Egg Rolls, Crispy Wontons, Dumplings and Chicken Satay. It was served with four dipping sauces - delicious!

I also found out that they served Roti here! WTH???!!! I wish I ordered three more orders of it because it was HEAVEN. Super light, yet flakey, buttery and sweet...exactly what I've been looking for, for months now and it was right here the whole time! I've searched other Thai, Indian and Caribbean restaurants and nope - none anywhere. Man, we're so lucky we're close by because we WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! All in all, it was a great experience as it was the last time and we will be back now that we moved back in the area (and for the Roti)!
