This place is very hole in the wall. It's located in the alley way between Wall Street and Maple Ave. The entrance is only located in the middle of the alley driveway. I can best describe the food as a mix of Mexican, Salvadorean. I'm biased, I always order their asada burrito and it has never been bad. Meat was flavorful, just the right amount of rice and beans, cilantro and onions. Their red sauce is spicy and goes well with the burrito. I've always ordered takeout, and never ate inside the restaurant. Service has always been quick for me, as you walk up to the counter inside, place your order and pay when it comes out. They are usually busy during the day as they serve all the locals around here. The delivery person is usually busy, coming in and out taking orders. The caldos seem to be popular here as well as the pupusas. The establishment seems to be a family owned and operated joint.
The prices are more than fair for the food you are getting. If I remember correctly, the burrito that I ordered is $13 and you get a LARGE burrito that is packed. You will get full off this burrito. I've been there a few times, and I definitely want to go back so I can try their other dishes and see if they are just as good. Give them a shot if you're in the area for a quick bite. I believe...
Read moreThey don’t deserve not even a Star. WORST SERVICE/EXPERIENCE EVER! I was visiting from out of state and decided to take my family to eat while shopping in Santee Alley. From the moment we walked in it was a horrible experience. I saw 2 mice running around. One ran to the kitchen and the other in the dinning area. Then we were told off by a guy on a bike who claimed to be the owner. We had opened the door to the establishment and not knowing that it did not have a spring that would gently close the door behind us, the door slammed and the guy on the bicycle immediately started to curse us out as we tried to explain what happened. I told my family to get up and for us to leave. NO ONE should be treated that way especially when everything is beginning to open back up after COVID. If you want to insult tourist then you may want to make sure your restaurant is a bit more sanitized and without any visible rodents! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL,...
