Just a couple of scenes from our first ever OFFICIAL @lataco x @metrolosangeles Eastside taco crawl. Thanks to our loyal members for coming out and eating tacos on us. Up the public transit punks. 1) @lupesburritos #2 bean n’ cheese burrito with a roasted green chile and guacamole - pastrami “special” fries, paired with an Orange Bang! Cheers. 2) @eldoradoexpress_ Baja-style battered fish taco and smoked marlin taco. 3) The crispiest tripitas in the universe at @santaceciliamexicanfood on a handmade tortilla made from 100% nixtamalized white corn (rare to find) ✨🚃

More people would eat tripa if tripa was (aptly) described as "fried sausage casings," or if it was better known how magnificent the tripa is at Santa Cecilia Mexican Restaurant. Santa Cecilia's glorious "Taco Grande de Tripa" consists of cow intestines shredded into lean ribbons that, depending on how long they are griddled, can provide varying textures ranging from fibrous to crunchy. As with bacon, the best tripa is mostly crispy on the outside with just the faintest amount of chew inside. When you order tripa at Santa Cecilia, you're always asked how you want it prepared. While the resplendent results of ordering "extra crispy" is perhaps what I'd recommend to tripa novices, you could order "regular" and be rewarded at Santa Cecilia with an arguably more interesting taco. You really ought to try it both ways -- a reasonable excuse to order more tacos here, not that you need one. Regardless of how long the tripas are cooked, the flavor is straightforward: beefy, a bit salty, and a little earthy. This pairs well with the handmade corn tortilla and the house's green salsa habanera, a zippy and tart sauce that tastes like it was purpose-built for this specific taco.

I was looking for some bomb tacos and burritos. Firstly the service was amazing. The cool guy made everything the way I like it. I ordered 2 steaks and 1 chicken tacos and 1 streak burrito. The portions were up above normal. So the taste of the food was really good. The tacos were really good but I’ve had better. Now that burrito was Fire. Like I was mad I didn’t order another one. Now that what I’m talking about that burrito was bomb. It would definitely be 5 stars if my tacos tasted like that burrito. I would definitely try again. If your in the area you should definitely try. The presentation of the food is great quality. If you would like to invite me back please contact me.
