I live just up the street so decided to try this place out today. It’s a super low key storefront on Grand so you might miss it if you’re not looking for it. I ordered the chicken omelet with fried rice, which was great flavor and only $8.95, which is about as cheap as it gets in LA. Plus, the guy was nice enough to throw in some free brownies!
We got to talking a bit and he said that they haven’t seen nearly as many students lately as compared with pre-COVID. They seem to be a one-man operation (to-go only) during the pandemic.
Highly recommend if you’re a USC student or someone living in the area. Hopefully things will clear up soon enough and they will be able to seat customers...

Every time I come here, I meet a local who’s been coming here since the 80s or 90s and it is so comforting to know that a place like this exists. Love the food, owner, consistency, quality, and history of this place.

Read moreDon't let the exterior of this cafe fool you. Sure, it may look like a cafe in the middle of a run-down neighborhood, but the foods and service are spectacular. My friend and I came here to eat some brunch and the sweet old man was very kind enough to provide us awesome services as well as some delicious homemade brownies! Not to mention we ordered a lot of food and the pricing was still very reasonable. I will definitely come back here again to try some other meals...
