This used to be my favorite "go-to" sushi restaurant - but this last visit we got FIVE ITEMS...and our check came to $85.00 !!! đŻ
We first asked for 2 "Ganja Rolls" - but the sushi chef apparently thought we'd said two 'Crunchy Rolls' (and even put extra creamy sesame sauce on one of them)!
It wasn't until I'd ASKED him what kind of roll it was (since I thought he'd made it for another customer)...then he answered, "You ordered Crunchy Roll!" - Uh, NO...WE DID NOT!!! "Ganja" and "Crunchy" do NOT sound like the same word to me.
I felt a bit bad about the mistake/misunderstanding (especially since he'd already added the extra creamy sesame sauce on one of the two rolls) - so I said, "Okay, we didn't order a Crunchy Roll...but because we're really hungry, we'll go ahead and take ONE of them...but we'd actually ordered two Ganja Rolls...can we please get those instead?"
Apparently, they must've charged us for BOTH of the Crunchy Rolls, as well as the two Ganja Rolls (even though the sushi chef had obviously made a mistake)...since the only other items I ordered after that were ONE order of Albacore, and ONE order of Yellowtail (sushi).
THREE rolls and TWO orders of sushi (especially during their "Happy Hour") shouldn't have come to $85.00...even with two glasses of regular iced tea!!! I should have requested to speak to the manager about it!
So we probably WON'T be returning anytime soon! It's unfortunate...because I used to really love this place...but our last TWO experiences at Something's Fishy, in Woodland Hills were both VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
I certainly hope a manager actually...
Read moreIâm not sure whatâs going on here? This used to be a pretty decent restaurant. The last time I ate here was during covid and it was pretty bad, this place went downhill and was never able to get back to where they once were. I stopped by Sunday 10/13 for dinner and left after 5 minutes of being there. The manager and 2 sushi chefs were fixing a hole in the ceiling directly above the sushi bar with NOTHING covering the sushi or bar. Pieces of drywall, drywall dust and debris was flying everywhere while drilling pieces of wood in to cover the hole. They thought it was smart doing this when no one was at the bar but failed to realize they were handling the tools, ceiling and garbage cans to collect falling debris with the same gloves they were cutting and preparing sushi with!!! I couldnât believe it. Not one employee or even the manager took this into consideration. There is no doubt in my mind someone ended up getting sick or finding something in their food that evening. When we told the waitress we were leaving and why she simply said âok, sorryâ and went on talking to the rest of the staff watching this all taking place. I will never step foot inside this place again. Higher prices for low quality food...

I feel the atmosphere, the service, the prices, and the food was middle of the road. And thereâs nothing wrong with that. Not everyone can be the best. Thatâs how we know how to rate and judge, pick and choose. Somethingâs Fishy does a fine job and if it fits your taste and budget then please pop in.
I treed them on a quiet weeknight for their âlate night Happy Hourâ available at the bar only. Unsure their specials as the Yelp pics were old and the web does not specify. Turns out itâs not what I was looking for. Limited but may work for you. 1 beer and no cold saki available. I did try the Rainbow Roll which is a half order.
The larger portion came from their sashimi sampler. The fish was cold and smelled good. Always a good sign. Donât think I need Tamago (egg) to take up a slot for sashimi but it does fill the plate at a low cost. Everything was ok.
The service was not solid. I did not feel I would actually get what I ordered but I did. However there was issues with the bill.
From my observation Fishây has a loyal following offering fish for less. If thatâs for you please try. I think youâ...
