My visit to Tacos 5 de Mayo was a genuinely delightful experience that blended warmth, authenticity, and flavour in a way that felt both welcoming and refined. The restaurant’s vibrant yet cozy atmosphere immediately set the tone from the colourful décor reminiscent of a traditional Mexican cantina to the aroma of freshly made tortillas drifting through the air. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with rich, authentic flavours that spoke to the restaurant’s dedication to true Mexican cooking; the tacos, in particular, were perfectly seasoned and beautifully balanced. The staff were attentive and accommodating, especially when it came to dietary restrictions — they clearly outlined gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free options, ensuring every guest could enjoy their meal comfortably. Families will find the restaurant very kid-friendly, with a relaxed environment, high chairs available, and portion sizes suitable for younger diners. Parking was straightforward, with ample street parking nearby and additional spaces available in the adjacent lot.

Authentic and delicious. Queso Fundido all the way!! So delicious and cheesy goodness! The Quesabirrias were big and filling. Very well made food. The Chile Verde was also quite tasty. Enough food with every plate. You will not leave here hungry. They have plenty of seating in this corner restaurant. Plenty of drinks to choose from, including aguas frescas and alcoholic beverages. Recommend the Agua de Jamaica.

Thank you for the great service! Loved the Carne Asada Fries didn’t expect a big portion of it 🤣 Love it! With onions, cilantro, guacamole, tomatoes, and sour cream 😋 My mom got Pozole she said it was delicious! Dad got Mole it was alright he said but not for him, he said it was too sweet for him.

My husband brought me here today for the first time and our two daughters. He ordered 7 Mares and I ordered posole and my daughters ordered something else from the menu. As I continued to eat my posole I noticed a black hair in it. I know it wasn't mine because my hair is brown. I told and showed the waitress the hair in the bowl and she just looked at me and didn't say anything. You would of thought she would of got the manager but no such thing. We paid our bill in full no discount no apology for the disgusting hair in my food and definately no manager. They just wanted our money and that's it! I'm definately not coming back here to eat ever!!! My husband was so disappointed and disguised with what had happened but not as much as I was! Hopefully this never...

As other reviewers have mentioned, the waitress was very rude, and this occurred when a family member raised a concern about their order. . The consommé was the greasiest dish I’ve ever seen, and my other family member became ill after trying their carnitas dish. Also, this place is expensive, when taking the poor customer service and food into consideration. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant, and I’m posting this review here so other people don’t have to go through the...
