Tacos Reyes — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Today was my second time eating at Taco Reyes. A trusted foodie friend recommended this place to me. I regularly eat at a lot of taco joints in the Canoga Park area and will review all of them. I must start off by saying that my sample size at Taco Reyes is small since I have only eaten here twice, and had carnitas and carne asada tacos on both visits.

I almost gave them 4 stars, because the quality of the meat seems to be a cut above some of the other taquerias in the area. But I feel the portions sizes are very small, the rice was kind of undercooked and lumped together, and finally the chips were not cooked all the way, making them chewy instead of crunchy.

The service was very good on both visits. Parking can be tough, because the lot is small, but I found good parking. The salsas are hot! I like a little kick in my salsa, but both the green and red pack a punch. The carrots in the salsa bar, on the other hand, have very little flavor.

I will definitely be back to explore the menu. Hopefully I can raise them...

Got a number 3 breakfast burrito which is supposed to come with bacon egg cheese and ham. After they already took my money they told me they had no bacon so I could replace it with something else I chose potatoes as they already had my money. I was asked if I wanted cilantro and onions and salsa. I said no onions or cilantro but salsa on the side. What I ended up getting was basically a potatoe burrito with onions and cilantro which I said didn't want and deli sliced ham as the meat. Probably the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. After throwing the burrito I called to tell them that they gave me the wrong burritos they told me they will do nothing to fix it cause he thought I said I wanted cilantro and onion. Please don't come here unless you want a nasty burrito with everything wrong and terrible...

Communication goes a long way, I don’t understand how this taco truck has such high reviews. It was a simple “ 2 Bean and cheese burritos with avocado” the lady told me the total and I paid. When, receiving my order, there was only one burrito and she looked confused and persisted that I only asked for one. Why is a bean and cheese burrito 9 dollars for one?? so whether this was on purpose or accident nonetheless, I didn’t get that order that I wanted. Instead of correcting her miscommunication, she proceeded that I needed to pay another nine dollars for a Burrito, never again when I go back for this business, I’m sure people will go anyways, but I am so disappointed by this truck.
