HAIR FOUND IN CURRY, MANAGER WAS LESS THAN APOLOGETIC. In fact, he asked us to go home instead of dealing with the problem, he hid in the kitchen and sent the waitress to deal with it. After we insisted to talk to him, he arrived, denying any responsibility and claiming that there is no way to get a dark long hair in our curry, hair which ended up in my mouth after putting the spoon way into the bottom of the bowl. We told him to review his cameras, if he doubts what occurred. Instead of sincerely apologizing, manager was dismissive and sarcastic, saying that he apologized by not charging for our hot tea and miso soup (which we had before the entire). He turned his back a few times to us, and was hoping we leave without others hearing our convo. At some point, he took a step forward while facing me as if challenging me to a physical altercation. Needless to say, we will never be back. It is reasonable to have mistakes in the kitchen, but it is not acceptable for a manager to deal with this sort of issue...
Read moreI forgot to take the photos of the curry chicken katsu and special combo that has unagi don and hot soba. They were good, but not great. I thought the curry was the curry you can buy at the Asian grocery store, SB brand. The chicken katsu was normal, fried with the tempura batter. The unagi over the rice was usual, just an eel with a sweet sauce smothered under. The soba was probably the best because the soup base was not too salty, like in most other places. I could actually taste the flavor of the stock. The dining room was clean. But the servers were talking loudly in Japanese, which I thought was a bit odd in a Japanese restaurant. Read moreMy three year old loves this place and so do I! We first started coming for happy hour and would walk out of there for less than $20. It was amazing. We love the service and the kid-friendly atmosphere, hello kitty plates are always a crowd pleaser. We usually get the $15 special and split it, tons of food and good soba noodles. Now we are moving away and will miss them! Thanks to Taiko for two years...
