Thai Dishes has fallen off in a MAJOR way! I used to come here regularly, so when I was passing by today, I thought I'd grab a bite to eat. Man-ohhhhh-man was I disappointed! I ordered the fried garlic fish (Red Snapper). I am NOT exaggerating: First, it was undercooked. Secondly, it seemed as if it were from a frozen batch of fish that was later cooked. Thirdly, it tasted like RUBBER! The sauce was fine, but actually chewing the fish was like having a mouthful of rubber bands in my mouth. I don't know what happened because they used to be reliable. Worse, they AUTOMATICALLY tacked-on an 18% fee. Mind you, I was by MYSELF!
Suffice it to say, after this nightmare, I was not even considering leaving a tip! Why? Well, they tacked on an automatic 18% to my bill for diners even though I was by myself. Really, Thai Dishes? The young lady who served me was cordial, but she was the only one working the floor. Translation: I had to wave my arm on two occasions because she was too busy running around serving others and didn't see me. One server on a Saturday night? Really, Thai Dishes? I am so, so disappointed in the place that I USED to enjoy regularly. Not again, though, you blew it in a major way...
Read moreI ate there for a quick dinner by myself. At first, I ordered one of the specialty dishes on the menu --- deep fried filet red snapper in tasty garlic pepper sauce. It tasted fine, but not a typical Thai dish. I asked the waitress if this specialty dish came with rice. She said no, then recommended me to get a fried rice. I ordered the fried rice with chicken, but I thought it was an add-on order to the main dish I ordered. It came out that the waitress placed an order for a full plate of fried rice. Two full plates of food was too much for one person. So, I feel the waitress could have done a better job when making recommendations. On top of that, I was disappointed with the chicken fried rice because of its taste and presentation --- it tasted nothing special of this "Thai" fried rice, plus the chicken was not cut into small pieces to "accommodate" the size of rice. The chicken was simply cut in the same size in such a dish of "chicken with broccoli." So, the chicken was in much larger pieces than the rice. So, overall, with the inappropriate recommendation by the waitress and the way how the fried rice was cooked, I am giving this...
Read moreUsing Postmates I have ordered from here twice. Both deliveries were on time. The first time I ordered Pad Thai which came to me luke warm and clumped together, I'm pretty sure it was leftover from the day before and then microwaved for me because there is NO WAY that it was cooked fresh, super bland with next to no flavor. Didn't even bother to finish it.
Second time I ordered from them was again, Pad Thai. I never judge or review a restaurant over one bad meal but two is a whole other story. The second Pad Thai was just as bad the first, I opened the container and turned it upside down over a plate only to receive a loud thump as my "brick" of Pad Thai falls onto my plate. It was the exact same as the first time I ordered from them. Completely bland of any Thai flavors and spices, seemingly nuked in the microwave to melt all the noodles together in order to form a Pad Thai brick. I would never recommend this to anyone I know, not even to people I dislike because nobody deserves Thai food this bad. Save your money and time by going to Natalie Thai instead. Only buy the pad Thai if you're building a house and ran...
