Nestled on 87th Street, this hidden gem of a ramen joint is a delightful discovery for those seeking authentic Japanese flavors in the heart of the city. From the moment you step inside, the cozy atmosphere envelops you, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The intimate setting is perfect for solo diners looking to savor a bowl of ramen in peace or for groups of friends gathering for a comforting meal. The menu boasts a variety of ramen options, each more tantalizing than the last. Whether you're in the mood for a classic tonkotsu broth or craving something spicy like tantanmen, there's something for every palate. The noodles are cooked to perfection—firm yet tender—and pair beautifully with the rich, flavorful broth. One standout dish is their signature 87th Street Ramen, which features a unique blend of ingredients that tantalize the taste buds with every spoonful. The broth is robust and aromatic, infused with layers of depth that keep you coming back for more. Topped with perfectly cooked chashu, soft-boiled egg, and a medley of vegetables, it's a symphony of flavors that leaves you feeling satisfied and content. But it's not just the ramen that shines at this establishment. The attentive service and warm hospitality of the staff elevate the dining experience to new heights. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, they're more than happy to guide you through the menu and offer recommendations based on your preferences. In conclusion, ramen joint is a true hidden gem, offering delicious food, cozy ambiance, and impeccable service. It's a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and indulge in a bowl of soul-warming ramen that nourishes both body and spirit.

The Ramen Joint in Westchester is a great tucked away dinner option for cold nights. They have both indoor & outdoor seating; indoor is cuter, but outdoor is great if you are planning on bringing your dog with you. The outdoor seating is under a tent in the street, and they have heaters to keep you feeling cozy as you dine. You need to order the Baised Pork Rice Bowl. The pork is extremely juicy and flavorful, and it falls apart in your mouth it’s so tender. The sauce perfectly soaks into the rice, and it’s topped with sesame seeds, green onions, and the perfect pink pickled ginger. Definitely order the large ($12.99) because you’re going to want more, and everyone at your table is going to try and share with you. The Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen ($13.99) comes with pork chased, woodear mushroom, green onion, bamboo shoot, and wild perilla seed. Next time, I’d get double meat because the pork is cooked to perfection.. The soft boiled egg is perfectly done, but I’d say you can pass on the brown butter corn because it doesn’t have much flavor. We upgraded to the thick noodles, and they were delicious and plentiful but not as thick as I was expecting.

I've been to this place a large handful of times over the past 5 years and it's always been really good. Very flavorful and complex broth, good noodles and pork, good add-ons - everything you want a ramen place to be. Like many of the other reviews state, I would've told you that this place is up there with any ramen spot on the west side. Until yesterday. I went with another person who had never been before, and a few moments after we dug in, we both looked up at each other and pretty much said at the same time that this ramen tasted pretty bad. The broth was completely different than how I remembered it. I'm not gonna claim to have a super refined palate, but to me there was a large amount of fish flavor and not a whole lot else going on. Even the texture was pretty watery and not how I remembered it from before. I had to tell the person I was with "I swear this place used to be amazing!" We were both starving and neither of us finished our bowl. Honestly the ramen tasted like something I'd expect to get in a small town where nobody has ever had real ramen before.

The service was still good and the appetizers we got were fine. Maybe this was just an off night, and I'd give this place another shot based on its track record, but this experience was a...

The food was good, but the hostess here was SO aggressive for no reason. From the minute we walked in, we immediately faced the brunt of her terrible mood and she continued to take it out on us, other customers, and her fellow staff. After we put our name down, we waited in the front for a table and she yelled at us to get out, even though it was cold and raining outside. Mind you, no other party after was told this. Fine whatever, we come back after our table is ready and she sits us at the bar, even though parties behind us were seated at tables. Then she continues to huff and puff, roll her eyes, stomp around, and generally just have her stank attitude ruin everyone’s mood in the joint.

I’m really hoping it wasn’t a race thing (we were all east/south Asian) because this is a ramen joint, but we’re truly stumped at who or what pissed in her cheerios. Maybe my husband looked like an ex? Maybe my friend reminded her of her childhood bully? Who knows.

The other front house staff member was incredibly sweet though. Maybe she sensed the hostess was being unreasonable and felt bad, but we appreciated it! More of her and less of the...
