I love Highland Cafe’s first location on York, so I was excited to try their new spot on Verdugo.
The space, and the staff, are warm, cheery, and welcoming. The menu has all your breakfast / brunch / lunch favs, and at a reasonable price.
We got the breakfast burrito with fresh, homemade salsa & bacon, egg & cheese sandwich on brioche. Both were fantastic — the kind of food that makes you close your eyes and sigh.
Cappuccino was fantastic! Really should have asked what they’re brewing because it was great. Could totally see myself making this a grab & go spot for coffee & sandwich on busy mornings.
(Including a snap of my food & how well it was packaged for take out, because it really held up!)

Their breakfast choices are unrivaled - lots of good LA-centric and Mexican items like chilaquiles and several different kinds of breakfast burritos. Also some vegan options as well.
