I was excited to finally try the Nook and it was not what we expected. We came on a weekday morning, just myself and my toddler. I try to get out of the house with her in the mornings and decided to grab a little breakfast. The food and service was not good. There were maybe 2 other couples in the whole place. My daughter didnât touch anything but the cottage cheese from my plate, which obviously came out of the same type of tub you can get at any grocery store. The bacon we both had was so tough and chewy it literally hurt to eat it. She spit it out and said âouchieâ. My bacon was the exact same way. The toast came out hard and cold, just everything was super subpar so we literally didnât eat much of anything besides the cottage cheese and tomatoâs that I ordered on the side. Then I had to keep calling someone over because we werenât being checked on. Just needed some more napkins and maybe a coffee refill. Whenever I go out to eat with my baby I make sure we are super low keyâŠ. So I donât ask for much. Just decent service and food thatâs actually edible. Sad to have spent $45 on a kids meal and my basic 2 egg and bacon breakfast here and to not be able to eat basically anything but the item that I can get for $2 from the grocery store. Unfortunately I donât recommend.
Also, Iâll add that when you ask for the check, they donât give you one. They stand there with their little pay at the table thing and just hand it to you with a screen that just has three pre-selective tip amounts for you to choose from. So itâs super awkward because youâre just sitting there staring at what tip you have to give them whether you had good service or not. You donât get to look at your tab to make sure everythingâs OK. You just have to put in your card and pay and then theyâll print out a receipt if you ask for it. I worked in the service industry for years and I will be one of the first to say that the auto tip for horrible service needs to stop. In California, you actually get a living wage you shouldnât just be handed some thing and it assumes that youâre going to be tipped because youâre serving them when you donât actually give...
Read moreThe food, the service, the atmosphere is top tier. One of the best spots I have ever been to and one of the busiest as it can be quite crowded but it's worth the wait. Fortunately, I was able to find a table within a 15minute window. The food is very delicious 5/5, 10/10 the list can go on. From the flavor my mushroom Benedict eggs provided to the great taste of their smoothies and coffee. It just hits the spot. The crepe was a perfect dessert and it was plentiful for two. The portions here are more than generous, enough for a person to be really satisfied with their choice or enough for a person to share with a loved one or a friend. The service staff was very kind from the beginning and offered ample time to order as well as. They remained vigilant to when your table needed anything and did not come up to bother to ask if you needed anything or to ask about the quality of the food while you were mid chew and they mid sentence expecting a response other than a thumbs up or a grumbled mhmm good. Which is very ideal in my opinion when I'm having a great time enjoying the food or having a conversation with the people at my table. If anything I would say this place gets a 10/10 for service, great taste in food, the atmosphere is very wholesome, welcoming and diverse seating both outside an in. The restrooms aren't terrible here they look clean and the kitchen has an open view as you walk by so you can see what kind of cleanliness goes on inside the restaurant. The seating does seem quite packed but with enough space that the average person wouldn't be backing their chair into you. The parking lot isn't large so expect trouble parking on a busy day. Overall if you've never been here before and are questioning where your next breakfast, brunch or lunch adventure will be, ask no more for this is it. If the emaculate taste of their dishes won't convince your, your wallet definitely will. Taste, worth it's price. Not to expensive but not too cheap. You get more than what you pay for and will need a minute or two to rest before...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Encino, this restaurant is a hidden gem for breakfast and lunch. Iâve visited multiple times and have always been impressed by the exceptional service. The farm-fresh ingredients used in their breakfast omelettes are truly impressive. Everything is generously portioned, making it a satisfying meal.
We highly recommend the BIG MAMA omelette, made with egg whites, fresh spinach, veggie sausage, garlic, mushrooms, jalapeños, tomatillos sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Itâs a flavorful, light, and delicious combination. Another must-try is the MEXICALI Omelette, also known as the WOW omelette. Itâs loaded with Ortega chiles, chorizo, garlic, onions, mushrooms, avocado, cilantro, and jack cheese, all covered with their delicious Rancheros sauce.
If youâre looking for something a bit different, the EL GORDITO BURRITO is a great option. Itâs just as delicious as the MEXICALI omelette but served as a burrito.
For dessert, indulge in the TUTTI FRUTTI French toast. Itâs so good! Itâs served fresh, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar, and topped with strawberries and blueberries. The toast is also very thick and delicious.
Under the EXTRA EXTRAS section of their menu, youâll find a healthy option called the MR UNIVERSE plate. It includes egg whites, grilled chicken, and a side of broccoli. Itâs a delicious and nutritious choice.
Donât forget to try their coffee or latte. They have a variety of choices to choose from, but my favorite is their Chai Latte. Itâs absolutely delicious!
For lunch, I highly recommend the TURKEY AVOCADO WRAP. Itâs loaded with turkey breast, bacon, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, arugula, tomatoes, chipotle mayo, and jack cheese. Itâs a delicious and...
