My wife, daughter, and I went to this restaurant around 2 p.m. on Wed. My wife saw the ad for the restaurant (opened a few weeks ago) in a Korean-American magazine and suggested we check it out. We ordered two spicy seafood noodle soups and an order of sweet-and-sour pork.
We have ordered this soup dish from several restaurants before, including a place in Koreatown. We really like the soup from this place! The soup base is tasty (but spicy) and the amount of seafood is far more than what we are used to getting from other restaurants. Also, the soup here is not as oily as what we are used to at other places. This soup is a bit pricey ($17) compared to other places, but the serving size and the bountiful of seafood above the noodles makes the soup ordering. The chef has also skillfully cooked the slices of cabbage in such a way that they are crispy, not soggy, and taste as if they were cooked on an open fire. You can just grab a slice from the soup with your chopsticks and chew it to get that unique flavor.
The sweet-and-sour sauce was excellent as well and pork came out perfectly (not too crispy, not too soft). The cost was around $19, but again, the serving size was large. The restaurant closes at 2:30 p.m. for break, before reopening for dinner. We were the only customers there.
The chef came out and spoke to us. We complimented him on his culinary skills. We told him we would come back soon, and we will. Next time, we intend to still order the spicy seafood soup, but also the black bean curd noodles ("chachangmein").
Going to a new restaurant can be a hit-or-miss experience. This place...
Read moreOh wow! What an absolute treat! As a huge fan of Korean-Chinese cuisine, this place exceeded all my expectations.
The 짬뽕 (spicy seafood noodle soup) was rich and flavorful, packed with fresh seafood and perfectly cooked noodles. The broth had just the right amount of spice to give it a satisfying kick without overpowering the other flavors.
The 짜장면 (black bean noodles) was equally impressive. The sauce was thick and savory, with just the right balance of sweetness. The noodles were springy, and the portion size was generous.
And let's not forget the 탕수육 (sweet and sour pork). It was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sauce was spot-on—neither too sweet nor too tangy. The dish came out piping hot, and the crunch stayed even after being drenched in the sauce.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt cozy and authentic. If you're craving delicious Korean style Chinese food, this is definitely the spot...
Read moreThe Ppong highly recommend! I’m so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and genuinely reminded me of my mom’s home cooking. We ordered the shrimp fried rice with jjajang sauce, the sweet and sour pork, and the pork dumplings—everything was bursting with flavor.
They even offered homemade kimchi, which was so good I ended up buying a half jar to take home!
On top of that, the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can really tell they care about their food and customers. This place has officially become my new favorite. So...
