20/10!!! Best dinner I've had in years!

Ever go out in LA and find a bunch of over rated, over priced, and not good quality food restaurants? Well this is not one of those places!

I had dinner with my girl here various times and I cannot get enough of their steak plate and pasta! Everything is literally made to order. Even the garlic bread! They give out complimentary bread and butter and omg is it not the best butter and crispiest bread I've ever had. I told my girlfriend I would take this place over Mastros or Flemming's any day. I'm fact, you can eat here 5 times with the price of one meal at those over rated steakhouses.

Literally had a romantic, affordable, and over the top delicious date with my girl here. They have an open kitchen and I had to personally compliment the chef with his cooking specially the steak! Oh... My.. God... That steak will have you questioning how you cook your steaks at home! Their salad? Perfectly seasoned and dressed. Their pasta! Cooked to perfection with aldenté noodles and high quality cheese and protein. Ever had perfectly crispy fluffy steak fries with your steak? Well then order the steak plate here and you will thank me later! You can tell how much they care about their food because they don't use that cheap pre-minced garlic. It's rare to see a restaurant care so much that they make their own minced garlic for salads and other dishes and I used to be a chef eating at high end restaurant often.

Seriously I wish this place would have been the first date restaurant I would have taken my girl to. She woulda fallen in love...

The two owners meticulously run the newly opened restaurant. The host and waiter told us the story of how the restaurant came to be. I will share the summary here, but it will be better coming from them. They both worked at the Pacific Dining Car restaurant for 18 years. They showed up one day and the doors were locked and the entire staff was let go without severance. Fast forward to today, now the chef and waiter duo opened their own restaurant that brings fresh delicious and high quality meals to Lincoln Heights. They warmly greet neighbors who pass by and stop in to say hello in Spanish and English. While we were there celebrating my partners birthday there was a group of college students, an older couple and a single lady all coming back for their second or third meal and they have only been open for about a month. I understood why they have already developed a loyal clientele, it was fine dining with care and without pretention. The chef checked on us for each course. I had casually mentioned it was my partners birthday and at the end of the dinner they brought out a decadent chocolate tort, with a candle and they both sang him happy birthday. The food, service and ambience were all delightful. I am already planning on returning. Trattoria Daly is just accessible enough that we could bring our kids there for a nice meal and just fancy enough to celebrate a special occasion...

I came in with zero expectations and a hungry belly from driving all around LA and my gosh did we hit a gem. The ambiance is warm, small feels like home but modern. We started with the calamari and wow 10/10 it was crispy the fry’s were thinner and crispy, and the marinara sauce was bomb! And did I forget to mention they top it off with 2 jumbo shrimps that are perfectly cooked. Oops I forgot they started us off with some sourdough bread which was warm crispy, and with the butter it was perfect. Our mains were the seafood spaghetti and the pollo a la funghi both were out of this word. The seafood was fresh, the clams were perfect no grit and no fishy taste and the pollo with the mushroom sauce was amazing. And the veggies were perfectly cooked. Soft but still had a bite to them. My wife fell in love with their seafood spaghetti I’ve never seen her lick the clams clean. The food was 10/10. Now the cherry on top, the service!! The service was perfect, we were sat quickly and offered our menus and started with bread and water. Our waiter was very attentive and refilled our water at any opportunity. Not over bearing at all. For me service is very important and they knocked it out of the park. Truly an amazing experience, and one I will return to experiment with my whole family!
