Quarter Bolognese / bolognese, cream, mozzarella, basil, extra olive oil, salt, parmesan reggiano - 5 ā! Quarter Roasted Mushroom and Shallot / roasted mushrooms, shallots, garlic, mozzarella, fontina, black truffle cheese, oregano, thyme - 5 ā!
Triple Beam Pizza is a fast casual pizza concept from food guru Nancy Silverton. I am already a fan of her tasty gelato. I would love to try her fancier places around LA but haven't been able to yet. But a fast casual pizza concept is right up my alley.
I was very happy with what I ate when I visited the Silver Lake location. The pizza is quite different, fun, tasty, and unique. It is a style of pizza known as "Roman" style which is not common in LA. Roman style refers to the square/rectangle shape and an overall thicker dough/crust. The dough was excellent.
They serve their pizzas in quarter sizes which makes it easy to order a variety or a smaller size if you aren't as hungry. Two quarter-size servings was a filling, satisfying lunch and gave me a chance to try two of their pizza combos. The ingredients were high quality, tasted fresh and had great flavor.
I tried their bolognese as well as a roasted mushroom and shallot. Both were amazing. The bolognese is a signature dish of theirs and was impressive. I love a good mushroom slice and the roasted mushroom and shallot quarter felt like a decadent version of a mushroom slice. Again, I could easily eat a whole pizza. To go with the quarter pizzas, I had their house ranch and marinara. The way they cut their pizza makes it very easy to dip in the tasty sauce.
They have a beautiful skylight and a wonderful mural. I enjoyed my meal on their small patio while watching cars and people on Sunset Blvd. I parked on the street so I am not sure how the parking works for the store. They are in a trendy, fun part of Silver Lake and there are lots of nice places in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had their pizza twice. The first one I ordered a whole pepperoni pizza and had only 2 bites of the first slice then gave away the rest of the pizza to someone else! What a waste of money! It tasted too salty!! I lived in NYC for 20 years and know a good pizza when I eat it and I didnāt want to eat more than 2 bites of their pizza because that makes me full in my stomach and Iād rather eat ramen. Iād give 1 star for their pepperoni pizza. Today I tried a slice of pineapple, prosciutto and jalapeƱo pizza and astounded about the fact that they charge $10 for just a slice of pizza!! It tasted good but thatās the most expensive slice of pizza I have ever had in my entire life! Iād give 3.5 star for the pineapple pizza for the uniqueness, because itās really one of a kind and so much tastier than pepperoni pizza I had before. My other complaint is they are very stingy about jalapeƱo. I only had a piece of it, but I think Iāll try this pineapple pizza again in the future but I donāt recommend a pepperoni pizza especially for those New Yorkers. If you want to eat the best pepperoni pizza, as tasty as New York pizza, go to Mulberry street pizzeria in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly, not good pizza IMO. My partner and I are new to the neighbourhood and were excited to try it based on good buzz. We got the pineapple, prosciutto & jalapeno option (full pizza), and opted to try the gluten-free crust.
Perhaps the gluten-free crust isn't their best work so I'd like to try the standard crust at some point, but even apart from that the rest of the pizza does little to inspire confidence. The toppings were pretty bland, they were super cheap/thin on the toppings, especially the cheese; and we're 100% sure that they supplemented a super thin layer of mozzarella with vegan cheese. This was either intentionally or done by accident through cross contamination - but either way, there was definitely flavourless soy "cheese" on our pizza. We also ate a whole pizza that says is "intended for 3-4 people" with ease - and we're very standard eaters.
We've ordered other pizza in the neighbourhood that is more cost-appropriate, higher quality, and more generous on the toppings. It's a bummer that our Triple Beam experience wasn't worth revisiting as we were really looking...
